"You're quitting your job right this instant, young man." Lu Ba declared, storming into the small apartment. His car keys fell on one of the tables in the room with a clang as he paced about the lab/ living room.
"I—"
"No! No excuses this time. I'm not listening to whatever you have to say." I groaned in frustration. He just had to fucking let me speak.
After telling them what happened at the estate, and how I had escaped and was planning to never go back there again, the car fell silent. I expected some kind of reaction right away, but all I got was silence, only for Lu Ba to have this outburst once we got home. When I had already let my guard down. Talk about false sense of security.
"Son, the Z-Gen Alpha was at your house. Do you realize how serious that is?" Lu Ba said in his authoritative father tone, with that look in his eyes that made you want to squirm—even when I wasn't in the wrong.
