Without any hesitation, Max pulled the door open and stepped into the wide corridor.
He stood there for a brief second, his brow furrowed as though something had suddenly crossed his mind.
Then he glanced at his wristwatch and spoke in a low voice. "If you didn't get her tonight, then make sure of it tomorrow night."
"Understood," Nicholas replied respectfully.
His head remained lowered as Max shut the door behind him and began making his way down the long corridor.
Max's expression remained unreadable, making it impossible to tell what was going through his mind.
Meanwhile, Fred and Joel had just taken a few steps toward the inside when they met Max.
Fred carefully assessed him. No doubt, he must be on his way out. Without uttering a single word, Fred moved to walk past him.
However, Max deliberately brushed against his shoulder as he passed then he paused slightly and turned to meet his gaze.
