"Normally, a Spirit Master can only have three Soul Cores with different attributes. They put them in the upper, middle, and lower Dantian areas of the body," Kong Mingan said softly while he held a spirit ring in his hand. His fingers glowed with a soft spirit power.
With just a little bit of work, he stretched and shaped the round spirit ring into different forms. "But if someone wants to have many Soul Cores of the same attribute, looking at the body is not enough. That is why I started looking at the spirit ring instead."
He continued to explain his thoughts clearly. "A spirit ring is special because it is unique, independent, and can be changed. It can fix itself and store energy. It can even join with a person's body perfectly. By changing the spirit ring so it fits the Soul Core exactly, the two can become one. This lets the Soul Core stay separate from the body's main systems but still be part of the person.
This stops any bad energy from messing up how the body works. Also, a spirit ring can hold a lot of energy. This matches the special three-attribute Soul Core I have been working on. Because of this, we are no longer stuck with the limit of three Soul Cores. Now, every spirit ring can carry its own Soul Core. If you have nine spirit rings, you can carry nine Soul Cores!"
The corner of Kong Mingan's mouth moved into a small smile. His voice sounded a little excited as he spoke. Every time a Soul Core is made, the spirit power inside the person goes through a huge change in quality.
Since the Snow Empress already has a very strong foundation, making nine Soul Cores would mean her spirit power changes nine times. He wondered if spirit power that has changed nine times could be as strong as divine force.
If a person has spirit power as strong as a god, does that mean they have reached a form of godhood already? If they could make spirit rings last longer and then fuse nine Soul Cores of the same type, could they create a Divine Core?
Kong Mingan stopped talking for a moment and looked at the Ice Empress with a kind smile. "Do you have any more questions?" he asked quietly. He was used to his Junior Brother and Junior Sister asking him things in his past life, so he liked helping others understand. Besides, the Ice Empress looked very funny trying to act calm when she was actually very confused. He almost felt like he should give her some snacks while she listened.
"No, I don't have any more questions," the Ice Empress said. She wasn't acting proud or mean anymore like when she first got there. She didn't know what to think of this human. He seemed to know things that should be impossible. She was actually scared that if she asked more, he would tell her something else that would break her brain. She felt like she couldn't take in any more information.
"Then you will be the one to watch over us and keep us safe," Kong Mingan told her.
"Oh... okay," the Ice Empress replied in a low voice. She looked at the Snow Empress, who was standing there very calmly. She wanted to say something, but she stayed quiet. She walked over to a chair and sat down. She let her head hang low and kicked her feet back and forth. Her golden eyes looked very sad. She had a bad feeling that she might lose the Snow Empress to this human.
Kong Mingan saw that the Ice Empress was out of the way, so he walked toward the Snow Empress. He touched her forehead gently. He used his mental force to send her all the details about the Form Transformation Art he made just for her. The Snow Empress closed her eyes to learn the technique. When she opened them again, her ice-blue eyes were very bright and clear.
"How do you feel about it?" he asked.
"It is not hard at all. We can start right now," she answered. Since the plan was made for her and she had tried to change her form once before, she knew what to expect. She didn't need any more time to get ready.
Kong Mingan felt a bit better after hearing that. He focused his mind, and a blue light appeared in his eyes. He wanted to be ready just in case anything went wrong, even though it was unlikely. "Let's start then," he said.
The Snow Empress nodded, and suddenly the air became incredibly cold. It felt like the coldest winter had arrived in the room. She stood in the middle of the lab, and her eyes glowed with an icy light. Cold air moved around her and created a small Domain that protected her. Then, blue lights started to wrap around her body like a cocoon. The transformation had started.
Time went by very slowly. Two weeks passed. The Ice Empress sat on her chair, playing with some soul tool parts because she was bored. But she kept one eye on the blue cocoon. she could feel the Snow Empress inside. Even though she was changing, her massive energy as a Seven Hundred Thousand Year Spirit Beast was not going away. It actually felt like the energy was getting even stronger and more solid now that the old limits were gone.
"A way to change form that keeps all your power..." the Ice Empress whispered to herself. She thought about what Kong Mingan had told her. She looked over at the young man who was sitting on the floor near the cocoon.
He had stayed there every single day to protect the Snow Empress. He used his special elemental body to stay close and used his mind to check on her every second. It made the Ice Empress feel like she didn't belong there. She felt like an outsider even though she had known the Snow Empress much longer.
The Ice Empress felt a bit jealous and annoyed. She couldn't win an argument with him, so she just sighed and went back to playing with the soul tool parts. Her eyes looked a bit blank as she sat there. But then, she heard a tiny sound. It was a small "crack." She looked up fast at the blue cocoon. She saw that the smooth surface of the cocoon now had cracks on it. The cracks were growing very fast right before her eyes.
