Condensing a Spirit Core?!
The first person who could not sit still was the Ice Empress. A deep sense of worry filled her heart because this plan was meant for the Snow Empress. As the only being in the Extreme North Land who could talk and cultivate with the Snow Empress as an equal, the Ice Empress knew many secrets.
She knew that the Snow Empress had damaged her Origin when she faced her six hundred thousand year Heavenly Tribulation. She also knew that the Snow Empress had already failed a second Spirit Core attempt once before, which had damaged her Origin even more.
Trying to condense a second Spirit Core was a near-death experience for anyone. Even though the Snow Empress had fixed her Origin using the ten thousand year profound ice marrow, trying it again was still very dangerous. The chances of success were very low.
The Ice Empress was truly afraid that something bad would happen to her friend again. She looked at the Snow Empress and reached out to take her hand. She whispered her name with concern.
It is alright, Bing'er. The Snow Empress gently shook her head. She softly pulled her hand away from the Ice Empress and looked at the young man standing in front of them. I trust him.
The Ice Empress felt like the Snow Empress was acting crazy. How could she trust him so easily? After a few seconds of silence, she looked at Kong Mingan with a look of doubt. She asked him how confident he was in this plan.
Kong Mingan felt a bit helpless. He asked her if she really did not trust him at all. The Ice Empress did not hesitate and told him that it was exactly because it was him that she did not trust the plan.
That is true. Kong Mingan nodded his head. He had been with the Snow Empress for such a long time that he had forgotten how much Spirit Beasts usually disliked humans. He remembered that even the Snow Empress had looked at him with that same distrust when they first met. He stopped smiling and looked at the Ice Empress with a serious face. He told her not to worry because he cared about the Snow Empress just as much as she did.
He would not have suggested this plan if he was not one hundred percent sure it would work. He was not going to use a normal, old-fashioned Spirit Core anyway. To understand his plan, one first had to understand what a traditional Spirit Core was.
In the world of Spirit Masters, a Spirit Core is the center of all spirit power. It is the foundation a person needs to become a Titled Douluo. A Spirit Core helps a Spirit Master recover their energy much faster and makes them much stronger in a fight. It also helps them break through their bottlenecks. Basically, getting a Spirit Core changes a Spirit Master completely and helps them reach a new level of power.
Kong Mingan had studied many samples of Spirit Cores. He had taken them apart and watched how they worked. After all his research, he found that the traditional Spirit Core was a good invention, but it was not perfect. Its functions were a bit messy, and it had too many limits. He believed there was a lot of room to make it better. The way it was made and the way the energy moved inside it could all be improved.
Of course, for a normal Spirit Master, trying to make a Spirit Core was a matter of life or death. If even one small thing went wrong, their spirit power would spin out of control. This would cause a backfire that would kill them instantly. But Kong Mingan was different. If he felt a problem starting, he could turn the spirit power back to its original state and try again. His spirit power simply could not go out of control.
He had a lot of room to make mistakes and learn. He also had many Spirit Saints, Spirit Douluos, and even a Titled Douluo level evil Spirit Master who had "volunteered" to let him study them. Because of all this work, his new and improved Spirit Core was finally finished.
He explained that in the old system, Spirit Masters had to add things like spatial power to make the core stable. He decided to do things differently. He used only one single attribute to build a stable energy structure. This kept the energy pure. He threw away the parts of the Spirit Core that were not useful and focused on only three main features.
The first feature was Absorption and Transformation. This allows the core to suck in any kind of energy and turn it into exactly what the user needs. For example, if the core is made with ultimate ice, then no matter what kind of energy it drinks, it will turn into ultimate ice spirit power. This matches the user perfectly and wastes no energy.
The second feature was Quality Transformation. This lets the user's spirit power go through a cycle where it is constantly cleaned and made stronger. If given enough time, this core could turn the spirit power of a normal Spirit Master into an ultimate attribute.
The third feature was Self-Adaptation and Growth. This meant the Spirit Core would get used to the user and grow stronger as they used it. If you combine this with the second feature, a normal ice Spirit Master could eventually have an ultimate ice Spirit Core as the core upgrades itself over time.
Kong Mingan waved his hand and the glowing diagram of the Spirit Core disappeared. He smiled at the two women and asked if they had any more questions.
The Snow Empress stayed calm and shook her head. She had seen Kong Mingan do many amazing things before, so she was used to his inventions. He had tested her so many times that he probably understood her body better than she did. If he said it would work, she believed him.
The Ice Empress was still a bit confused. She muttered to herself about things like core optimization and focused characteristics. Her head felt a bit messy, but she calmed down and thought about what he said. After a moment, she realized how powerful this was. Then, she frowned and asked if he was planning to make the Snow Empress's second Spirit Core out of ultimate ice as well.
Kong Mingan told her that he was. The Ice Empress asked if two cores with the same attribute would fight each other inside the body. She asked if he had found a way to stop same-attribute cores from clashing. She sounded a bit excited.
Usually, Spirit Masters pick their own attribute for the first core but have to pick the spatial attribute for the second one. They do not try to have two of the same kind. This is because if two cores of the same attribute are in one body, they will pull toward each other and crash. This causes a giant explosion that kills the person. Many Spirit Masters had died learning this lesson. That is why almost everyone has to study spatial power to make their second core.
If this guy had a way to fix this, it would change everything. But when Kong Mingan looked at her, he simply told her that he did not have a way to stop them from clashing.
The Ice Empress got angry immediately. She asked him why he was trying to make one if he didn't have a way to fix the problem.
Kong Mingan held out his hands and told her that he never said the Spirit Core had to be put inside the body.
The Ice Empress went quiet. She looked at him with a blank face for a long time. Finally, she asked him where the core would go if it was not inside the body.
It goes in here.
Kong Mingan laughed a little and slowly raised his hand. In his palm, a spirit ring was floating quietly and giving off a soft, beautiful light.
