Rex, Lior, Mira, Elion, and Taran stepped into the entrance of a C-Rank dungeon together. At first, it seemed dangerous but manageable.
"Are we ready?" Rex asked.
"We're ready!" they said in unison.
Everything went smoothly at the beginning. The team fought zombies, collected the jewels they dropped, and laughed as they competed with each other. Rex felt the warmth of fighting alongside his friends and having fun at the same time.
But suddenly… the ground began to shake. First, a small tremor, then a violent quake. Stones fell from the walls, and the air of the dungeon shifted.
"What's happening?!" Mira shouted.
A wave of energy surged from beneath the ground, transforming the dungeon. The C-Rank dungeon suddenly became an S-Rank dungeon. The monsters were faster, stronger, merciless, and endless. Zombies, winged creatures, and shadows attacked all at once.
Rex and his friends fought desperately, but it quickly became clear: this power was far beyond their limits.
One by one, his friends fell. Lior, collapsing beside Rex, shouted:
"Rex… g-go! Run!"
Mira, Elion, and Taran… all fell to the ground in agony.
Rex watched their deaths and nearly lost his mind. His hands shook, and his heart felt shattered.
"No… no! This… can't be happening!!" he screamed.
Yet somehow, he survived. In a corner of the dungeon, he noticed a narrow escape passage he had missed before. Slowly, painfully, and with tears streaming down his face, he moved toward it.
Behind him, the merciless power of the S-Rank dungeon roared. Rex ran, panting, broken, but filled with rage and determination.
When he emerged outside, he was still crying, but his resolve had hardened. He swore to avenge his friends.
"I… will come back. I will destroy every monster that killed you. I promise… I will take revenge," he whispered to himself.
Rex's face was set with determination, and his eyes now burned with nothing but the desire for power and justice. This was the start of his new, harsher journey — the journey of the lone survivor of an S-Rank dungeon.
