Rex was driving down the highway, enjoying the quiet scenery, when suddenly the cars ahead of him began to slow down. Within minutes, the traffic came to a complete stop. Rex frowned and leaned forward in his seat.
"This… is way too much traffic for this area."
Curiosity getting the better of him, he stepped out of his car and started walking toward the front. People were whispering anxiously, some even looking pale with fear. When Rex finally reached the front of the crowd, he saw it:
A massive dungeon gate towering over the street.
Its blue glow illuminated the surroundings like ghostly fire.
In front of the gate stood a young woman. She was trying to calm everyone down, shouting:
"Please don't panic! The authorities and high-rank hunters are already on their way!"
Rex took a deep breath, then stepped forward confidently.
"I'm an A-rank hunter," he said to the girl. "I'll go in first and assess the situation."
The girl hesitated, shocked.
"A-rank…? Are you sure? Entering alone is—"
But before she could finish, Rex had already walked through the gate.
Inside, the dungeon was silent. Too silent.
Rex slowly drew his sword, his senses sharpening. The walls glowed with a deep blue light… until suddenly—
The entire dungeon shook.
The glow shifted.
Blue… turned crimson.
A chilling wave of pressure crashed over Rex like a storm. His pupils widened.
"A dungeon evolution…?"
That meant only one thing:
A B- or A-rank dungeon had transformed…
Into an S-rank.
Outside, the emergency alarms began to scream. Hunters panicked. The girl fell to her knees.
"An S-rank… no one can survive that…"
But it was already too late.
Rex was locked inside.
No escape. No backup.
Only the overwhelming presence of something sinister waiting in the darkness.
Rex tightened his grip on his blade.
"Fine," he muttered.
"Let's see what an S-rank really is."
And deep within the dungeon…
The Reaper awakened.
