After defeating the B-Rank boss, Rex moved deeper into the dungeon. Now, not only courage but also sharp wits and quick reflexes were required. The glowing crystals along the walls cast shifting light and shadow, making the dungeon feel almost alive.
Turning a corner, three creatures suddenly appeared: a massive serpent, a winged demon, and a shadowy monster. Rex froze for a moment, then gripped his sword tightly.
"There's no turning back now!" he muttered.
The serpent struck first, lunging its huge neck toward him. Rex leapt to the side and drew his sword. Flames and blue energy swirled around the blade once more.
Fssshhh!
A wave of energy blasted the serpent backward. But the other two creatures immediately attacked. Rex focused, moving with perfect harmony of mind and body. He slashed right and left, each strike fueled by fire and blue energy, stronger than the last.
The winged demon took to the air while the shadow monster tried to surround him from behind. Rex jumped, dodging the shadow, and simultaneously brought the demon crashing down. Every strike sent shards of glowing crystal scattering, as if the dungeon itself recognized his power.
After an intense hour, Rex had defeated all three creatures. Thirty shining jewels and several valuable items lay on the ground. His strength had grown, not just physically, but mentally and spiritually as well.
Catching his breath, his eyes gleamed with determination.
"This is just the beginning… Whatever comes next, I'll face it," Rex said. "I need to become stronger… and no matter what the next boss is, I will stand against it."
The dungeon fell silent. Rex sensed the calm before the storm, but he had no idea what was lurking in the shadows ahead.
Suddenly… a deep, rumbling growl echoed from the darkness. Something massive was moving. Rex's heart skipped a beat.
Something far more dangerous than anything he had faced yet… was waiting for him.
