Only four days passed after that day...
I don't know if I should call him uncle or step dad .... but eversince he told me the truth, his behavior changed... he's not the same cruel, heartless man... he's just being dad.
A fair man
That's what I can say atleast. He doesn't shout or yell at me, kick or slap me anymore....beat me up or force me to cook his food, he even got a house helper for that.
The sudden change of heart, maybe my dad's soul was haunting him ...and didn't let him rest at all.
Or he was atoning for his mistakes and trying to seek for my forgiveness....I don't know, but one thing I should be glad about, he hasn't killed me...he was a werewolf hunter.
Things between me and Hayley are starting to get better too, atleast she doesn't see me as a threat anymore...and I think she broke up with Drey, because he doesn't drop by anymore like he used to....I don't see him, even at school, and Hayley doesn't go out like she used to.
Sunntown High changed too, but did it really?
Joshua didn't show up to school after that night, and his absence was felt in the whole school.
He should hate me, he doesn't a mate like me....a hybrid, wolfless and weak....and yet he's an alpha of such a strong pack. I know it isn't right to decide for him, he should make his own decision if he wants to be his mate or not.
Why was I being selfish?
Zoey and her group didn't bother me that much anymore....Josh still helped me, and yet, I only hurt him in the end.
My eighteenth birthday isn't far....what could be installed for me on that day!

SUNNTOWN HIGH
CLASSROOM 5
"Sky, looks like you'll be having a new desk mate right behind you" Principal Olivia said to Skylar who'd just arrived.
"Why, what happened to the old one?" Skylar asked confused.
"He switched schools, he won't be coming back" Principal Olivia replied.
"Then who'll be my new neighbor?"Skylar asked before her new back deskmate entered.
"ME!" Joshua boldly replied.
This came as a surprise not only to Skylar...but to the others too, especially Zoey.
Joshua transferred classes, from the most elite Classroom 4, that belonged only to the werewolves and the ones from good backgrounds to their dump of Classroom 5, that had almost every kind of student.
"Joshua?" Skylar almost lost it.
So that must have been his reason for skipping school the past days, planning to transfer classes.
"I'll leave it the both of you, have fun" Principal Olivia said before she left.
But where was the fun in that?
Joshua moved towards Skylar, leaving what seemed like an arm's length between the both of them.
"You still remember me, I thought you forgot" he spoke gently.
How could she forget!
She simply nodded in agreement and sat down...like she was ignoring him....but Joshua wasn't done.
He moved even closer...and bent down close to her ear.
He wanted to whisper something, but her faint scent got to him first. The scent of his fated Luna.
Since her eighteenth birthday was close, her werewolf scent had begun unmasking itself...there was no way she could hide it if he always came so close to her like that.
Joshua's sense of smell was strong.
"You smell different" he whispered.
"I used a new perfume...you shouldn't get to close, you might develop allergies" Skylar tried to cover it up.
She didn't want him to know.
"No, this is not perfume....." Joshua kept on sniffing her scent.
"I'll just use the bathroom" Skylar abruptly stood up and rushed out of the class.
Zoey knew she had to stay in her limits, but the more she saw Skylar grow close to Joshua...the more anger she felt. She sneaked out too and follwed Skylar to the bathroom.

BATHROOM
"This can't be happening, Joshua shouldn't find out about my secret" Skylar splashed water on her face while staring at herself through the bathroom mirror.
"What secret are you talking about newbie?" Zoey asked...
"You followed me here?"Skylar replied.
"How much more are you going to seduce my Alpha, he even transferred classes just be close to you.....God knows how I've been dying to get to Classroom 4, but he gave it up...all for you!" Zoey said with so much sadness in her voice.
"Zoey, I didn't ask Joshua to transfer classes for me, okay!.....I have nothing to do with this"Skylar replied.
"Isn't it obvious.....he likes you, don't tell me you can't see that, if you didn't...then your not as smart as I thought" Zoey said.
"He might like me, but I'm not his mate....his mate is still out there, and it could be you...I'm just a simple human girl who wants nothing to do with the Alpha" Skylar replied.
"Look Zoey, I can tell you like him....you're in love with him, I can help you get him, if you promise to keep him away from me" Skylar added.
How much more lower was she going to stoop, just to keep her secret from Joshua?
She thought he didn't know she was his mate, but Joshua already knew that...before she even came to know about it....the one detail he didn't know...she was a hybrid.
"What are you talking about?"Zoey asked.
"Just trust me, Alpha Josh will be all yours....all you have to do is keep him away from me, please...can you do that" Zoey couldn't believe Skylar.
Here she was trying to get Joshua's attention and yet Skylar was dying to divert his attention away from her.
Little did they know, Luke.... standing outside the bathroom was listening in and heard everything.
"Why is she desperate to get away from the Alpha?" Luke asked himself.
Skylar just kept on giving him surprises, Joselyn would surely like her just as much as Josh liked her.
"I don't believe this, you're being so ridiculous and you expect me to believe you" Zoey replied.
No matter what, she was still loyal to her Alpha and wouldn't disappoint him again like the last time.
"Maybe if you change schools too, then I'll be able to believe you" Zoey added before she walked out of tte bathroom.

CLASSROOM 5
All the while through the different sessions, Skylar felt so uncomfortable...like someone was watching her.
Joshua wasn't taking his eyes off her even for a second.
"Please stop doing that"
She finally used their mind link.
"Do what?" Josh asked.
"Stare at me like that" she replied.
"Well, if you want me to stop doing it, why don't you face me and say it out loud"
He was clearly mocking her.
"Forget it"
She gave up as soon as she got that answer from him. This was his way of retaliating after she refused his offer.
"Skylar, Joshua are you two even listening?" The teacher up front asked them both.
"You said something?"Skylar asked confused.
"Yes, I did, I have assignments for all of you, and they should be done in pairs of two...your closest neighbor" the teacher replied.
"So I'm pairing you with Joshua" she added.
"But why does it have to be him of all people" Skylar complained to herself.
"No problem ma'am" Joshua's smile said it all, he was more than happy to be paired up with her.
"The assignment is simple, the both of you partners just have to each pair come up with the history of Sunntown High....and present in the next session next week, remember...this will contribute to your final results....so please cooperate" the teacher concluded....before dismissing the class.
That marked the end of the last session.
"Guess you're stuck with me"Joshua whispered in Skylar's ear.
"So, shall we go to my place or head to your place?" Joshua asked, as soon as Skylar got up from her seat.
"We should change partners"Skylar replied turning to leave...but he stopped her, standing in front of her again.
"Running away again" Josh said.
Skylar couldn't take it, it was like he was harassing her....and yet, she couldn't bring herself to tell him to stop.
"I'm not" she replied, avoiding eye contact with him.
"I know you're trying so hard to avoid me, aren't you?" Josh trapped her on the desk there was no way she could escape.
The closer he came, the more he sniffed her scent.
The class had cleared out again, and it was just them again.
"What do you want from me?" Skylar asked.
"You don't want to be friends with me, that's fine....but now I want something else" Joshua replied.
"What could that be?" Skylar continued to ask, although she knew what his answer was.
"You"he simply replied.
"I like you Skylar"he added, and he didn't even flinch saying it.
The moment he said that, Skylar felt like the whole world had stopped moving....and it was just them.
Their bond grew stronger by the minute and she grew closer to him day by day.
"Joshua, you can't like me" Skylar replied.
"Why can't I like you?" Josh insisted.
"I'm not a werewolf like you, I'm not your mate or the Luna of your pack" Skylar replied.
"Don't tell me you don't feel the bond, the connection...I know you feel it to" Josh said before he gently held her hand and placed it on his chest.
She could feel it wholeheartedly.
Skylar couldn't deny, she had feelings for him too....their faces were inches from each other and before she knew it, he'd claimed her lips.
He kissed her...she didn't resist or pull back, she let him have his way...and almost lost herself in the kiss.
Then again, reality hit her.
"No .. I... I can't"she broke the kiss and tried to run away from him.
"Why do you always try to push me away, when all I want is to show you how much I care about you"Joshua tigtened his grip on her hand.
He was careful not to use his alpha strength on her.
"Do you really hate me that much?" He asked with a pitiful expression on his face.
How could she say no again to that face...he just had his way with looks and words.
"I don't hate you Joshua, we just can't be together" Skylar replied, tears welling up in her eyes.
"But Skylar, you're my mate"Josh said, and that one sentence left Skylar dumbstruck.
"I don't know how it's possible...why the moon goddess chose you, a human... to be my mate.....I had my doubts, but Sky, I don't really care if you're human, what matters is that I like you and I'm willing to protect you with everything I have"Joshua added.
Skylar realized that she was just running in circles, she was trying to hide the fact that she was his mate, yet he already knew.....sooner or later, he'd come to know about her being a hybrid....and that her step father is a werewolf hunter.
"Joshua, I really can't be with you"Skylar replied.
"Then I'll wait, I don't care how long it will take ...I'll wait until you accept to be with me willingly Sky" Josh said.
He wasn't going to give up that easily....
He waited a whole eighteen years just for this moment, to have his Luna by his side, he wasn't going to let her slip away from him.
No matter what Skylar said to push him away, he wasn't going to listen..
Not now, not ever...in this lifetime.
