First day, more like my worst day....but whatever....I'm just glad that this day is finally over. New school....with werewolves, and I thought that I'd make a slight difference....but no, it's still the same.
How annoying!
Already made a whole lot of new enemies, but it doesn't matter....I didn't come to look for friends either.
Not like Hayley's dad would even let me have any friends.
As soon as the last bell rang, I packed my stuff in my bag....but then came across Joshua's handkerchief.
"You can keep it, I have plenty of those"
Judging by his words, I'm sure he wasn't lying ...but I don't like keeping things that aren't mine.
"Who knows, he could even have a girlfriend that might need it more than I do"
"I don't have a girlfriend" his voice sounded through my ears.
I shouldn't be surprised, he can hear my inner voice after all. But still....it frightens me.
The whole class had cleared out and it was just the both of us in it. The thought of being alone with him...it scared me.
Especially with him walking towards me like he has every right to.
It freaks me out.
"Uhmm... can you hear everything I say to myself?" I asked, walking back....away from him.
"Yes" he simply replied, still coming close.
"Can you stop....doing that?" I asked again, before my back hit a cold wall.
Dead end.
"I can't" he replied, still coming close... until his body was just inches from mine.
He had me backed into a corner...and trapped me with both his arms.
"Are you scared?"he asked, staring right into my eyes.... those glowing hazel eyes.
Having him that close, I could feel my heart race and staring into those glowing eyes... I could feel myself getting lost in them
"Very scared"I replied.
"You don't have to be... Sky, I won't hurt you" he said.
"If I wanted to hurt you, I'd have done in the woods that night..." He added.
I don't want to believe him, but I also can't stop myself from believing him.
"Then what do you want from me now Josh?" I asked curious to find out.
"Friends?" He asked...after leaning in closer like he always does.
He wants to be my friend? I desperately want to agree, but with my messed up life I can't have friends.
Not even one.
"I'm sorry Joshua but I can't be your friend, thank you for this, and for helping me...but I can't accept" I replied, handing him his handkerchief... before escaping from his trap to take my things and leave.
That was too good to be true. He grabbed my hand and stopped me...and there it was again, that tingling sensation.
"But why?" He asked... trapping me on the desk this time.
Why did he desperately want to be my friend?
"I...I can't be your friend, I'm sorry" I replied.
"Look,Sky...I won't hurt, I just want to protect you" he said.
When was the last time someone said those words to me... wanting to protect me.
He's so sweet.
Josh or Joshua..... he's not as bad as I thought.
"I..... I.." I wanted to give him an answer but..
"Skylar!!" Hayley's voice sounded from the entrance.
If she saw this, she was definitely going to tell her dad.
"Dad's come to pick us up ...and he won't like it when I tell him about it" Hayley said before she left.
Damn it.
"Josh please let me go.... I have to go" I said before escaping from him again.
Running away, it was all I could think of as the solution to my problems.
"Skylar wait!" I could still hear his voice, trying to stop me...but I wasn't going to turn back.
I returned what belongs to him so there's nothing more to bring us together again...we won't have to meet again.

SKYLAR'S HOUSE
"What's this that Hayley's telling me about! you already have a boyfriend!" Skylar's step dad hit her the moment they entered the house.
"You should have seen them dad, they were flirting in broad daylight" Hayley added fuel to the fire.
"Flirting huh!" Her step dad held her by her neck and almost twisted her arm.
"We...we...ren't, he's not m....my boyfriend" Skylar struggled to get the words out.
This is what she was afraid of.....her step father wouldn't let her have any friends, much less a boyfriend like Hayley.
"You little whore! I'm warning you....let this be the first and last time I hear about this...the next time I do, you won't like it" he said before slamming her on the wall and storming off to his room.
Could anyone be so heartless to a seventeen year old girl?
Skylar coughed, desperately trying to catch her breath.
"That boy you were with....stay away from him" Hayley suddenly said.
"You have a boyfriend, what does it matter to you who I speak to" Skylar replied.
"I once had the hots fo him too, his family is powerful and has influence in Sunntown.....but once I found out who he really is....I backed off" Hayley said.
"Dad wouldn't let me"
Did they also know about the existence of werewolves in Sunntown?
"Who he really is? What do you mean?" Skylar asked.
"This town is full of mysteries Skylar...it's best you just stick with no one"Hayley added before she went upstairs.
Something was going on, something Skylar didn't know about.....the two were clear hiding something.
Aside from the fact that they knew about werewolves....there was something else they were hiding from her.
Skylar took slow footsteps up the stairs heading towards her step father's room. She wanted to know the truth.....even if he'd get angry and beat her to death.
She'd never entered his room before, but the moment she did, portraits of dead werewolves welcomed her at the entrance.
"What are you doing here?" He asked angrily.
"Please, tell me the truth, why don't you want me getting close to anyone in this town.... I just want to know what you're hiding from me" Skylar spoke softly.
"You want to know...it's about time"her step dad replied before he grabbed her arm and dragged her to another room behind one of the walls.
The room was filled with nothing but hunting tools, anything that could harm a werewolf.
"This town is full of werewolves, and I'm a werewolf hunter" her step dad begun his story.
"Your dad was my brother...a hunter too, but he fell in love with your mother who was a werewolf and she got pregnant with you" he continued to tell.
"I don't know what you are, a werewolf...or a human...but your mom, soon after your dad died trying to protect her....she had no choice but to get married to me. I had to keep a promise I made to my brother....but your mom, she suddenly left one day without leaving any trace... leaving you just six years old" her step dad spoke in a what seemed like a sad tone.
Did he fall in love with her too? She was his second wife after Hayley's mother...
"I don't get it, if you're my uncle....do you see me as a monster like them....is it why you treat me like this? Why you raised me like tha?"Skylar asked.
"Who knows, if I don't tame you before you turn eighteen...you could become a monster too" he replied.
Skylar was beyond surprised.... she was a hybrid, part human and part werewolf.
Which explained her quick healing, her extra ordinary abilities....she wasn't a normal human like Hayley or her step dad.
"Your mom was around your age when she awakened her wolf spirit and she became a monster....you shouldn't meet the same fate too, my brother would be so disappointed" he added.
"Thank you for your concern, but I'm not a monster and I'll never be like them....or my mom" Skylar said before she walked out of his room.
The truth was too much for her to handle, why was she knowing this just now....while her eighteenth birthday was around the corner.
MEANWHILE
JOSHUA'S HOUSE
Joshua kept glancing at the wall clock in his room...it'd soon be eight o'clock....and he'd have to go out hunting with his pack again.
But one thing he still couldn't get right, why Skylar was terrified before she left.
"Please let me go, I have to go"
He kept wondering and asking himself what was wrong with her.
He was worried for her.
Why did she push him away like that?
Was it so easy for her to reject anyone who wanted to help her or protect her?
"The full moon will be out tonight Josh" Luke said as he entered his room.
"What's wrong with the full moon?" Josh asked confused.
"It's your first full moon after finding your mate....did you forget?" Luke replied.
"As an alpha, you have to seal the bond with your mate...you know, mark her" Luke added.
"What?"Josh almost snapped at him.
The thought of him marking Skylar, with his strength as an alpha, he'd definitely hurt her.
"No way... she's not ready for that"He added.
"But Alpha Josh, you can't let three full moons pass without marking her, this is just the first one, you can let it slide and prepare her for it...or else, you won't be able to escape the moon goddess' curse"Luke said.
"I'm just worried about her, she won't even let me get close to her as a friend" Josh replied.
"I haven't had a chance to interact or talk to her yet....but judging by her actions, I can tell she's the type to trust so easily" Luke said.
"What can I do for her to trust me, why can't she trust me?" Josh asked...anger evident in his voice.
"That's an answer you should get from her yourself...I can't answer that, nor can Josie" Luke replied.
Joselyn was away from home and she wouldn't be returning for some days...either at home or at school.
"You're right, only Skylar can answer that question" Josh calmed himself down.
"The guys are already waiting downstairs..." Luke tried to say, but he cut her off.
"You and the guys can go ahead, I'll come find you" Joshua said before he walked towards his window.
He jumped all the way from the floor his room was and landed on both his feet.
As soon as he landed on the ground....he shifted to his wolf form and ran into the woods...set out to find Skylar.

Skylar had stepped out of the house to get some fresh air, and digest everything that Hayley's dad had told her.
She still couldn't believe it, she was part werewolf.
The little history she knew about werewolves... she knew....after her eighteenth birthday, she'd be able to awaken her wolf spirit, attain her scent and find her mate...
Could Alpha Josh be her mate? Everything that had happened so far pointed to no one else but him.
The bond, the mind link.....the undeniable attraction and those glowing eyes he had only for her.
The heart connection.
It was him...
"Are you always this sad?"
Josh's voice spoke to her. She couldn't see him, but she could hear him.
Yet he could see her.
"Josh, is that you?" she asked.
"Ofcourse it's me...I came looking for you" he replied.
"Why? Why would you look for a mere human like me? You should care do much about me" Skylar said.
"Yes you're a mere human to the rest...but to me, you're special Skylar" Josh replied.
"Your words are sweet Josh, but I still can't agree to what you want" Skylar replied.
"Why can't you trust me Sky? Why can't you trust in the bond we share and that I'd never hurt you"Josh asked.
"Do you hate me already?" He continued to ask.
"I don't hate you Josh... I just can't be your friend or be with you" Skylar replied.
Once again, she'd refused....she didn't want to drag Joshua into her problems...she didn't waste any more time outside....she didn't have to see him, or else she'd change her mind.. she went back inside the house and locked the door.
