Great. Just great.....who knew my life would turn out like this....of all things, I had to be an Alpha's mate...besides the fact that I'm a hybrid.
That's one more thing to add to my little journal.
The cool evening breeze hit my face....as I stared out the window of my small bedroom.
I kept wondering how it would be if I told Joshua the truth about me instead of running away and hiding it from him. He'll find out sooner or later anyway.
He's my fated mate.....but would his pack accept a weak Luna like me who's half human? The likes of Zoey and the Midnight Circle...
Then there's the likes of my step father who despises werewolves...
"I really like you, and I'm willing to protect you with everything I have"
Joshua's so sweet and good to me, anyone would easily fall for him.....even if I keep denying, I really like him too.
When was the last time anyone ever said those words to me?
We just met, but I feel like I've known him for a very long time.
It's my first time feeling this way about a guy.....but it won't be easy...with almost everything around me hindering my relationship with him.
It's just too good to be true.
I also kept wondering what my mom and dad's life was like.... against all odds, the war between humans and werewolves, they still fell in love and bore a child.
Where could my mom be right now? Was she still alive? Or was she already dead?
Why did she run away and leave me behind to suffer all alone in the hands of her cruel second husband....
"Sky..... you're special"
I still remember those words she always used to tell me. Her long brunette hair, soft and tender skin with gorgeous emerald eyes.
My mom was very beautiful....no wonder the two brothers fell for her.
But what was going to happen to me?
JOSHUA'S PLACE
A separate house from the pack and close to the woods...and by the river. A place which only Joshua knew about.....where he could go to spend some quality time alone, read if he had to, play the piano if he wanted to, rest quietly when bored and also go for a swim if he felt like.
He'd gone there to clear his mind off things but couldn't stop thinking about Skylar.
"I can't be with you right now"
Skylar didn't reject their mate bond, but she still refused to be with Joshua..... thinking about it almost drove him crazy.
He kept wondering why she didn't want to be with him, why she kept on running away and avoiding him?
Was it something he did wrong?
Was she trying to hide something from him?
Was it because of Zoey and the Midnight Circle?
Those were questions that only Skylar herself could answer.
If she thought that she'd get away from him so easily, she thought wrong....it had only just begun.
The more she ran away, the harder she made it for him.....the closer he wanted to get.

The next day at school, Skylar arrived.....but she was like a celebrity... almost every one in their section was gossiping about her....the news of her standing up against the Midnight Circle had spread like a wildfire.....
Not only that, she was the only girl who'd fully grabbed the school hunk's attention....despite being a new girl.
"What's wrong with these people?"Skylar asked herself.
"He transferred classes because of her"
"She's very pretty..... prettier than Zoey"
"Do you think he likes her?"
"He has to like her, he's never been that nice to any girl around here"
The girls she passed by whispered amongst themselves....all the way to her class.
"What's wrong? Can't you take it anymore!!"Zoey's voice welcomed her at the doorstep of her class.
It seemed like she was bullying a defenseless girl in her class.....and no one dared to help her.
"Poor little thing, wasn't your trip to the hospital enough the last time...maybe I need to send you back"Zoey said, almost slapping the girl...but Skylar grabbed her hand before she could.
For an ordinary human girl, the strength in her hand was extra ordinary.
"Stop it Zoey..."she simply said, tossing her arm aside...while everyone present watched.
Whenever they met, it was Skylar who humiliated the all powerful Zoey.
"How dare you interrupt newbie! This doesn't concern you"Zoey snapped at her.
"It does, who do you think you are to do whatever you want here?"Skylar's voice hinted anger.
"Skylar, you're messing with the wrong person....and I'll make you pay for this"Zoey said before storming out of the class....
She couldn't hurt Skylar openly after Joshua's warning the last time...but she swore to get back at her.
"Are you okay?"Skylar asked the girl.
"T..thank you so much..."she replied..
"You're bleeding, let's head to the nurse"Skylar said, after noticing the blood stains at the corner of her mouth.
The girl before her reminded her of her horrible childhood, whenever she was hit by her stepfather....with no one to help her.
She wouldn't let it happen to someone else in school while she was around.
She wouldn't let anyone get hurt like she used to.
NURSE'S OFFICE....
"Do you feel any better now?"Skylar asked.
"I do thank you"the girl replied.
"My name is Skylar, what's yours?"Skylar softly asked.
"Bethany, so you're the new girl everyone's talking about....now I know why"Bethany replied.
"Actually, I was also new last year, but Zoey and her group made my life miserable....you're very lucky that nothing bad has happened to you"Bethany added.
But ofcourse, they bullied every human new comer in the school.....they didn't care what they did to them.
Skylar herself was a victim first hand....but unlike for the rest, Joshua stepped in to help her.
Joshua who was always cold and indifferent towards humans.....that's what the other werewolves in school knew, but he treated Skylar differently.
His actions made her a trending topic in school.
This girl must've suffered at the hands of Zoey to the extent that she was hospitalized before.
"I don't have any friends or anyone to stand up for me like you did today, she'll get back at me..."Beth was so pitiful....and so alike to the old Skylar.
"Beth, don't worry....I'll be your friend and help you....Zoey won't be able to hurt you anymore"Skylar said.
"Really? No one's ever said that to me....thank you so much Skylar"Beth replied.
"I was once in a similar situation, so I understand what you must be going through..."Skylar said, resting her arm on Beth's shoulder.
The moment she did, she could feel Beth's emotions....feel her pain...
Could it be her other gift as a Luna, to feel other people's pain and help to lessen it?
Meanwhile....
"What do you mean get back at Skylar....Zoey?"Clover, one of the members of Midnight Circle asked.
"You know what I mean, if we don't do this..... she'll keep trying to seduce our Alpha! I won't let her take my place as the next Luna"Zoey replied.
"Zoey, Alpha Josh warned us multiple times already to stay away from her....if he finds out about this....."Clover tried to say but she cut her off.
"Don't worry, we don't have to do it ourselves....we can make it seem like an accident, all you have to do is follow my plan"Zoey replied.
She was very serious about it.
She despised Skylar's presence.... eversince she stepped foot into the school, many things had begun to change about Joshua.
If Skylar hadn't come into the picture, Zoey believed that by now..... she would've become the Midnight Pack's next Luna.
For all those years that Joshua didn't find his mate,Zoey was likely to take that position because she was the second strongest she wolf in the pack after Joselyn, Joshua's sister.
And she was the closest to Joshua.
Zoey loved Joshua, they were close friends. She believed she was his mate, she knew her destiny was to be the Luna of Midnight Pack, but after Skylar came.....all of that changed completely.
Zoey believed that Alphas couldn't mate with humans...so she thought that Skylar was the one using some tricks to get close to Joshua and get all his attention.
Little did she know, it was the other way around and Skylar was indeed the Alpha's mate and the destined Luna queen of their pack.
