Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Terminator T-1000, Has Arrived!

Chapter 28: Terminator T-1000, Has Arrived!

Terminator World.

On the evening of April 19, 1995, Marcus was about to have dinner at Kyle and Sarah's house. Faced with Kyle's self-reproachful question, Marcus sighed.

"While there's some connection, it's not really your fault," Marcus reassured him.

In reality, the problems in the Terminator World were very serious!

Marcus had been constantly thinking about the problems of the Terminator World because it was the first world he had traveled to, and he had already gained a certain degree of 'authority' there.

If planned properly, Marcus could use the Terminator World as a logistical base.

For example, he could use the resources of the Terminator World to support operations in other worlds!

But the problems in the Terminator World were extremely serious, including the looming [Judgment Day], the even more dangerous [Skynet], and the [Time Cage].

The Terminator World, like the world Marcus was from, was trapped in the Time Cage.

Therefore, Marcus had also been constantly thinking about the problems of the Terminator World.

From what he could see, the Terminator World was very special; its timeline seemed to exist in parallel, rather than in chronological order.

Taking the original Terminator series as an example, in The Terminator, the Terminator T-800 was sent back by Skynet to assassinate Sarah Connor, but this mission was thwarted by Kyle Reese, leading to its failure.

Logically, this situation should have altered the future, even leading to Skynet's defeat. But what actually happened?

In Terminator 2, Skynet sent the more advanced and powerful Terminator T-1000 back to assassinate John Connor!

This demonstrates that the information from The Terminator was directly transmitted to the future, and the future Skynet retaliated by sending the Terminator T-1000 back through time to continue the mission that had failed before.

This logical sequence, ignoring time, is the simplest cause-and-effect relationship:

because the Terminator T-800 failed its mission, Skynet sent the Terminator T-1000 to assassinate John Connor again.

But when simple cause and effect were combined with time, Marcus felt a throbbing headache. This Terminator world was too complex, the Time Cage too intricate, the cause and effect relationships and temporal logic extremely chaotic, with a multitude of self-contradictory situations.

"By the way, will Skynet send even more advanced and powerful Terminators?" Kyle asked worriedly.

Marcus didn't deny it. "In your time, have you ever heard of the Terminator T-1000, a liquid metal Terminator?" Marcus asked.

This question had a deeper meaning.

If Kyle knew about the Terminator T-1000, then Marcus could breathe a sigh of relief.

If Kyle didn't know...

then it most likely meant that Skynet created the Terminator T-1000 after Kyle traveled through time, and it also meant that the Skynet destroyed in 2029 was a decoy.

Kyle thought for a moment before shaking his head. "I'm sorry, Marcus, I can't confirm that. I can only say for sure that we haven't encountered the Terminator T-1000 you described on the main front."

Marcus frowned inwardly, but remained outwardly calm. He reminded him, "From what I understand, Skynet is about to send Terminator T-1000s to assassinate John. You need to be careful."

Marcus added details about precautions against the Terminator T-1000.

"Don't worry, we have dogs at home," Kyle replied.

"I've arranged three teams around you. If there are any problems, notify the office immediately," Marcus reminded him.

Kyle responded gratefully, "Thank you."

"For the future of humanity," Marcus sighed.

It was nearly nine o'clock at night when Marcus left Kyle and Sarah's residence. A black Cadillac SUV pulled up.

"Hey, boss, want a ride?" Jackson called out.

"You have guts," Marcus said, looking at Jackson.

Jackson replied, "I'm actually pretty cautious."

After saying that, Jackson complained, "Boss, you're too paranoid!"

"That's why I'm still alive," Marcus snorted lightly, then got into the passenger seat.

"By the way, boss, how are you doing in the future?" Jackson asked curiously.

"Why do you ask that?" Marcus asked back.

"Mainly because the boss doesn't look any different. Rodriguez, Williams, and I are all getting old now," Jackson said with a sigh.

After all, nearly eleven years had passed in the Terminator world. Jackson, Rodriguez, and Williams were all around forty years old, while Marcus was still young.

"The future is not good," Marcus replied calmly. "Alright, be careful. The Terminator T-1000 is a huge threat."

"Understood," Jackson agreed.

Jackson drove Marcus back to his residence. At the door, Jackson greeted someone, "Hey, Rodriguez, what are you doing here?"

At the door of Marcus's residence stood Rodriguez, Marcus's former team member.

Rodriguez, a calm and diplomatic man, had served as a mediator in Marcus's team.

Rodriguez responded, "The boss has been back for over a month, and we haven't had a proper get-together yet. I brought a bottle of bourbon today, and I've already notified Williams."

Upon hearing Rodriguez's response, Jackson and Marcus exchanged a glance, then without hesitation, drew their pistols and fired at Rodriguez.

"Bang bang bang..."

A series of gunshots rang out, but Rodriguez didn't fall. Small metallic craters appeared on his body, quickly disappearing.

Jackson, while firing, called out through his radio,

"Emergency! Operation code [Eagle Down]! All personnel, attention! Target T-1000 spotted, located in Sector 21. The target is pursuing Director Foster. Immediate backup!" Jackson called out.

According to the rules set by Marcus regarding Terminator T-1000, the Terminator Division had a unified operation code. Once the code was triggered, all Terminator Division personnel were required to participate in the operation.

Now that Terminator T-1000's target was Marcus, Jackson didn't hesitate to use the unified operation code.

"Roger, responding."

"Understood."

"ETA three minutes."

"Boss, hang in there!"

...

The Terminator Division field agents responded one after another.

Marcus and Jackson retreated while firing. Marcus arrived next to the black Cadillac SUV, opened the back door, and took out an M4 carbine from the back seat.

"Jackson, get in the car! We can't take it down, let's move!" Marcus yelled.

Jackson didn't hesitate. He had already witnessed the Terminator T-1000's capabilities; the M1911 pistol had no effect whatsoever on it, the liquid metal machine's power was on full display.

In fact, the M4 carbine wasn't very effective either, merely slowing down the Terminator T-1000's advance.

"Get in, boss!" Jackson opened the driver's door and yelled at Marcus to get in.

After Marcus got in, Jackson floored the accelerator, and the black Cadillac SUV sped away, the Terminator T-1000 could only watch as the two drove off...
