Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Terminator T-1000 in a Desperate Situation

Chapter 30: Terminator T-1000 in a Desperate Situation

Los Angeles, 27th Street.

Outside the Knox Steel Mill, LAPD officers and FBI field agents from the Los Angeles Terminator Division had surrounded it, but neither had moved, awaiting orders from Marcus.

"Boss, what's the next step?" Jackson asked, standing beside Marcus.

Marcus looked at the dark Knox Steel Mill, not making a decision immediately.

"Have we checked everyone outside?" Marcus inquired.

Terminator T-1000 possessed powerful shapeshifting abilities; it had previously transformed into Marcus's subordinate, Rodriguez, to attempt an assassination. Now, Marcus naturally needed to confirm that the LAPD officers and FBI agents outside were safe.

"We've checked them. Everyone from the LAPD and FBI has been verified by K-9 units; all are clear," Rodriguez replied, walking over.

Jackson glared at Rodriguez. "You almost got us killed just now!"

Rodriguez, being a diplomatic guy, apologized repeatedly. "I'm sorry, Boss. I didn't know when the Terminator T-1000 discovered me. It's all my fault this time."

Marcus patted Rodriguez's shoulder. "Alright, be more careful next time. Luckily, it didn't intend to kill you."

"Yeah, thanks, Boss." Rodriguez looked shaken.

"Give the order to have the LAPD set up two perimeter lines to prevent civilians from getting in and to prevent anything from leaving the Knox Steel Mill," Marcus ordered.

"Execute Plan Foxtrot?" Jackson asked.

"Of course!" Marcus glared at Jackson. "What other way is there besides Plan Foxtrot?"

"Plan Foxtrot is perfect!" Jackson joked. This guy was a natural optimist, even at forty, he was still a bit of a comedian.

Marcus kicked Jackson's shin. "Hurry up and deal with the perimeter."

The so-called Plan Foxtrot perimeter was a plan specifically designed to target the Terminator T-1000.

Given that the Terminator T-1000 is a fully liquid metal machine, it can transform into FBI and LAPD personnel or become a puddle of liquid and move around.

To prevent the Terminator T-1000 from escaping the containment, Marcus specially designed a fire perimeter, using gasoline flames to create a fire barrier. Once an object passes through the flames, it will inevitably cause changes in the flames, making it easier to detect.

As for the Terminator T-1000 transforming into LAPD and FBI agents and passing through the flames?

Wouldn't an ordinary person be injured if they passed through the flames?

Or would ordinary clothes not burn when they passed through the flames?

A moment later, the fire perimeter was set up. Two fire rings, one large and one small, surrounded the Knox Steel Mill, with FBI and LAPD personnel in the middle of the rings.

"Boss, the situation inside the steel mill is too complicated. We need to proceed with extreme caution," Williams warned. "I just scanned it with an infrared thermal detector and didn't find anything with a heat signature."

Marcus responded confidently, "The Terminator T-1000 has the ability to mask its heat signature, so the infrared thermal detector naturally can't find it."

After saying that, Marcus took out his phone to contact Stevens. Waiting for Stevens to answer, he said first, "Stevens, proceed with Plan Mike. I'm at the Knox facility on 27th Street."

"Roger!" Stevens responded, "Do you need reinforcements?"

"Not for now. I'm worried you might also be a target. You'll be in charge of follow-up reinforcements at headquarters," Marcus explained.

"Okay, contact me anytime if you need backup," Stevens responded.

Now that Marcus has been marked as a target by the Terminator T-1000, and with Director Garrett assassinated by the Terminator T-800, Marcus couldn't help but worry that Stevens might also become a target.

Once Stevens is eliminated, who knows if the next deputy director will continue to support Marcus?

The FBI's Los Angeles field office is already under Marcus's influence. Once this influence is lost, dealing with the Terminator will be extremely difficult.

Look how manageable it is to deal with the Terminator now!

Once the Terminator is discovered, not only can the LAPD be mobilized, but elite FBI personnel can also be deployed to contain the Terminator, and even the citizens of Los Angeles can be enlisted to search for the Terminator.

What an enormous amount of authority that is!

If this influence is lost, and Marcus is left to fight the Terminator alone, frankly, he would rather go back to the Time Cage and let the Terminator world deal with Skynet on its own!

"Rodriguez, go coordinate with the LAPD and have them bring over the lighting equipment. I want the entire Knox facility lit up, with no blind spots," Marcus ordered.

Since the Terminator T-1000 chose this abandoned steel mill to use the environment to create an advantage, then those advantages should be removed, leaving the Terminator T-1000 nowhere to hide!

"Williams, prepare to receive the division's special equipment vehicles," Marcus added.

Williams nodded, "Roger that, Boss."

It was nearly nine o'clock at night.

The LAPD mobilized a large amount of lighting equipment, including searchlights, flares, and various emergency lights, while the FBI's Los Angeles field office dispatched two electromagnetic cranes.

These electromagnetic cranes were the secret weapon against the Terminator T-1000!

The Terminator T-1000's weaknesses were very obvious; being a fully liquid metal machine, its internal support strength was relatively low, as was the structural integrity of its body.

In response to this, Marcus pushed for a special plan: procuring two high-powered electromagnetic cranes from the FBI's Los Angeles field office, which could be used to restrain the Terminator T-1000 if necessary.

"Boss, shall we begin the operation?" Jackson asked in a low voice. "LAPD has evacuated the surrounding civilians, and all the equipment prepared by the division is in place."

Marcus nodded, turned on his radio, and gave the order, "Begin the operation!"

As soon as Marcus gave the order, searchlights were turned on, their bright lights enveloping the entire Knox Steel Mill, banishing the darkness and making it seem as if daytime had suddenly arrived.

"Three people per team, advance with cover!" Marcus continued to give the order.

The Terminator Division's field operations teams acted according to Marcus's orders, including Jackson, Rodriguez, and Williams, each leading seven teams into the Knox Steel Mill.

When the 21 field operations teams entered the Knox Steel Mill, they did not act rashly, but instead proceeded cautiously, deploying a large number of flares into the dimly lit areas.

"Team Three calling command, we've encountered trouble in area Alpha-17, requesting backup!" Jackson's third team called for backup.

Marcus immediately responded, "Command received."

He then issued the order, "Immediately mobilize the electromagnetic crane to completely clear area Alpha-17!"

Marcus made detailed preparations for the Knox Steel Mill, including dividing it into numerous sectors and developing corresponding contingency plans.

For example, the third team encountered a relatively enclosed space; deploying flares would likely be dangerous.

In such cases, the high-powered electromagnetic crane outside would handle the situation, completely clearing the complex area.

As for whether the Terminator T-1000 would be brought out along with the debris?

If the Terminator T-1000 dared to come out with the electromagnetic crane, it would be in big trouble!

Because anything brought out by the electromagnetic crane would be checked by K-9 units, and if there was even the slightest alert, it would be dealt with using liquid nitrogen!
