I was privileged to have a look at the box and spoke with some people, especially Ruby's maids.


And her maids told me they had thought I was the one who brought the gift box for her.


Her father had a sketchbook which happened to be among the art materials and when I wanted to have a look he told me there was no drawing in it and kept it with him.


I learnt her carriage had been parked at the marquis' house and when it was brought back to the palace, I went to have a look inside to see if anything of hers was left behind.


It was then I learnt from the coachman who brought the carriage that he found two notes which he handed to me.


I blinked in surprise when I saw what was written on them.
