'The following day….'

"Princess Ruby?"
"Princess Ruby!"
I groggily got up and cleaned my hazy eyes with the back of my hand as I responded amidst yawning.
"Come in?" I permitted and in came my maids.
"Good morning, princess."
"Good morning, milady. It is time to freshen up."
They were two in number which was good enough for me because three felt like a crowd and I couldn't still understand how Deborah had three ladies in-waiting.
"Ok," I lazily said and got out of bed.
Soon enough they filled up my bathtub and I helped myself out of my dress before putting on my robe briefly until I got to the bath area before I pulled it off and soaked myself inside the warm water.
Once in, they began to bathe me.
"Princess?"
"Yes?"
"How does it feel to be engaged to the Duke's son?" One of them asked as she scrubbed my legs and I smiled.
"I guess news travels fast," I noted.
"It does," the other answered as she massaged my hair with the liquid soap.
