Rai hated this.
Hated what's suddenly happening to him right now.
Hated the way his heart refused to calm down, pounding wildly against his chest as if it were trying to break free.
It was humiliating.
Worse, pathetic.
And only now… only now did he fully realize the position they had been in just moments ago too.
His breath hitched.
'What the hell was I thinking?'
Hiding his flushed face like that… letting himself get swept up by those careless words…
'As if he would kiss me.'
The thought alone made his expression darken.
That bastard was just messing with me.
Rai's eyes snapped open.
"Who in their right mind would want a kiss from you anyway?"
Rai muttered.
Right in front of him, Zade had already stepped away, his arm slipping off Rai's waist as though it had never been there to begin with. The distance between them returned just as easily as it had been broken.
Zade leaned back against the counter, completely at ease, a smug smile tugging at his lips.
