"I got to know that kid through his mom."
Rai was now sitting on the same sofa as Zade, but barely. He had squeezed himself into the very edge, as far away as physically possible without falling off. His body was stiff, angled away, like even the idea of brushing against Zade, who was still half-naked, annoyingly comfortable...was unacceptable.
Still, despite his irritation, Rai had somehow calmed down. The way he'd been dragged here earlier, the anger, the confusion, it had all faded into the background.
Because now, this… this was the real matter.
"His mom?" Rai repeated, frowning. "What did you do with his mom?"
The words slipped out before he could think them through. Only a second later did he realize how accusing and how sharp they sounded.
Zade raised a brow.
"What do you think I did?"
"…."
Rai said nothing, but his expression didn't soften.
Zade let out a quiet scoff, shaking his head.
