The tunnel roared.
Water surged through the narrow passage like a living force, slamming against the walls, rising higher with every second. Loose debris floated past—metal scraps, broken panels, anything not bolted down.
Tommy struggled to keep his footing. The current pulled hard at his legs. But Jason… Jason still stood. Water reached his chest. Then his shoulders. His movements slowed—but only slightly. Tommy's breathing was heavy now, uneven.
"This should be working…" he muttered.
Jason stepped forward. Each step heavier. Slower. But still coming. Tommy's stomach dropped.
"No… no, this isn't right…"
Jason grabbed him. Even with the rushing water, his grip was iron. Tommy gasped as he was shoved backward into the wall. Water crashed over both of them. The tunnel shook violently. Tommy fought back, driving his elbow into Jason's side. It didn't matter. Jason didn't even flinch. The water surged higher. Neck level now. The current grew stronger, pulling at everything in its path. Tommy managed to wrench himself free and stagger backward.
"This should stop you!" he shouted.
Jason tilted his head slightly. Almost… curious. Then he stepped forward again. Back at the platform, Rennie and Tyler stood at the edge of the tunnel entrance. The sound of rushing water was deafening now. Tyler shook his head.
"We can't go back in there!"
Rennie's eyes were fixed on the darkness.
"He's still in there."
"So is Tommy!" Tyler snapped.
Rennie stepped forward.
"We can't leave him."
Tyler grabbed her arm.
"If we go in, we die too!"
Rennie pulled free.
"Then I'm going anyway."
She ran back into the tunnel. Tyler cursed under his breath.
"Of course you are…"
And followed. The water hit them almost immediately. Waist-high. Cold. Powerful. Each step was a fight. Rennie pushed forward, her eyes scanning through the dim light.
"Tommy!"
No answer. Only the roar of water. Further inside, Tommy was losing ground. The current dragged him sideways. His back slammed against the wall. Jason moved through the water toward him. Slower now. But still unstoppable. Tommy's mind raced. This wasn't working. The lake had held him before. But this— This wasn't the same. This wasn't Crystal Lake. Jason reached him again. Grabbed his jacket. Pulled him close. Tommy swung wildly, trying to break free. Jason shoved him under the water. Tommy disappeared beneath the surface. The current dragged him violently. He fought upward— Gasped for air— Then Jason forced him down again. Rennie saw it. Through the rushing water. Through the dim lights.
"Tommy!"
She pushed forward harder. Tyler behind her, struggling just to keep up.
"This is suicide!" he shouted.
But Rennie didn't stop. Tommy kicked free again, coughing, barely staying upright. The water was almost at the ceiling now. The tunnel wouldn't hold much longer. Jason stood in front of him. Unaffected. Unstoppable. Tommy's voice cracked.
"This isn't enough…"
Jason stepped closer. Tommy backed up— Until there was nowhere left to go. Rennie finally reached them. She grabbed Tommy's arm.
"We have to go!"
Tommy shook his head weakly.
"It didn't work…"
Tyler arrived seconds later.
"We need to get out—NOW!"
The tunnel groaned loudly. Concrete cracked somewhere above them. The water surged even harder. Jason moved again. Closer. Rennie stared at him. Even surrounded by rushing water… Even in a collapsing tunnel… He was still coming. Still focused on her. Her voice dropped to a whisper.
"He's not afraid of it…"
Tommy nodded slowly.
"No…"
He looked at the water rising around them.
"He's part of it."
The tunnel ceiling cracked loudly. Chunks of concrete fell into the water. Tyler shouted,
"THIS PLACE IS GOING TO COLLAPSE!"
Rennie grabbed Tommy.
"We're leaving!"
Tommy hesitated for one second. Then nodded. They turned and ran. Or tried to. The current fought them every step of the way. Behind them, Jason didn't follow immediately. He stood still. The water surged around him. The tunnel began collapsing piece by piece. And for a moment— Just a moment— He disappeared beneath the surface. Rennie, Tyler, and Tommy burst out onto the platform. Water spilled out behind them. Flooding the station. They collapsed onto the ground, gasping for breath. Tyler coughed violently.
"We almost—"
He couldn't finish the sentence. Rennie turned back toward the tunnel. Water continued pouring out. Debris followed. The entire passage had collapsed. Tommy slowly sat up.
"It's over…" he said.
Tyler nodded quickly.
"Yeah. It has to be."
Rennie didn't move. Her eyes stayed fixed on the flooded tunnel entrance. Something felt wrong. The water suddenly shifted. Just slightly. Then something rose from the darkness. A hand. Then a shoulder. Then the mask. Jason stepped out of the flooded tunnel. Water pouring off him. Completely unharmed. Tyler's face went pale.
"No… no, no, no…"
Tommy stared in disbelief.
"That's not possible…"
Rennie's voice shook.
"He survived…"
Jason stepped onto the platform. The station lights flickered violently. The water pooled around his feet. And for the first time— He didn't just look like a killer. He looked like something worse. Something that couldn't be stopped. Tommy slowly stood up. His voice was low.
"We were wrong."
Tyler backed away.
"Wrong about what?"
Tommy looked at Jason.
Then at Rennie.
"Water won't stop him."
Rennie's heart sank.
"Then what will?"
Tommy didn't answer. Because for the first time since this started…He didn't know. Jason took one step forward. Then another. The hunt continued. Stronger than before.
