Chapter 24 - Chapter 23

Kaelvryn stood up from his spot fuming dashing out leaving everyone in shock, Valen was still on the floor gasping for breath.

The other guards around rushed towards her, one stretched out his hand, she grabbed it and stood up immediately, "you were awesome..." he exclaimed.

"Thank you," she smiled softly.

"Where did you learn how to spar like that? A good majority of us thought you'd be the first to actually defeat the great Lord Lucas," another continued.

But it only earned a chuckled from her, "firstly, my father thought me how to fight from a very young age and he knew went easy on me and secondly, I'll soon defeat the great Lord Lucas."

They burst out laughing, "I'm Derek and this is my good pal Vince, we are from the southern ridge pack."

She nodded calmly, "I think you already know my name, I'm from the Eastern Moon pack."

They both looked at each other with shock in their, "you're the great Alpha's Dreagon's son, moon goddess, it's a pleasure meeting you in person."

As Valen washed her hands gently, "you know my father," she asked.

"There's no wolf other there who doesn't know Alpha Dreagon, he is one of the best if not the best fighter and strategist in the whole realm, damn, I never thought one day we would actually see his successor," Derek praised.

Valen could only laugh softly at their words, "I don't think my father thinks so highly of himself but thank you for kind words."

"It's a pleasure,"

"So if you'd excuse, I need to resume my patrols, we can talk some other time," she said calmly while they nodded and left.

Valen returned back to the palace in search of the king, every turn she made was a dead end, she couldn't find him then she stumbled upon his personal maids.

"Excuse me, have you seen the king?" She calmly asked.

They both looked terrified the moment she asked the question, "he's in his study," one calmly said.

Valen was about to sprint when one held her hand, "I think for you now you shouldn't go see him, he is completely enraged."

The maid voice shook, fear laced in her tone, then Valen slowly removed her hand from her wrist, "I need to be with the King at all times, that's my job but thank you for the warning."

They nodded gently and allowed her passage, she dashed to his study, the door was slightly opened then she took in a deep breath a day walked in.

"Your Majesty..." she called out gently but there was no answer.

She moved in stealthily making no sound as she searched through the stands where he could be then someone dragged her to the wall, her back screaming with pain with the forceful impact.

Kaelvryn's eyes were red with rage, his hand slowly reached his neck, Valen didn't move or show any struggle, she allowed him to do whatever he pleases.

"Beg me to release you..." he barked but Valen still remained still.

Then the unexpected happened, Kaelvryn crashed his lips on her and Valen stood in shock, Valen had never kissed before and honestly didn't know what to do, she was as stiff as a statue.

Kaelvryn broke the kiss and looked deep into Valen's eyes, "why do you keep doing this to me?" He whispered.

Valen was still shaken, her tongue was tied, she could barely even move, this happened way to fast for her brain to assimilate, then Kaelvryn slowly leaned in and kissed her again, this time slow and steady, "open your mouth..." he said in between the kisses.

Valen opened her mouth slowly, my mind still finding it hard to process what was really going on but one thing was certain, the king kissed her.

No...the king kissed a man.

Then Valen finally snapped out of it and suddenly moved her head side ways, "your Majesty..." she muttered.

"This isn't right," she said calmly but her heart was racing crazily.

Kaelvryn held her by her arms, "this isn't right?" He asked, his voice low and deep, "but you literally make me go crazy because of you, I can't stand people going close to you...ever."

Valen slightly pushed him back, still not facing him, "your Majesty, I apologize for the inconvenience that I've ever caused you."

"Inconvenience," he roared angrily, then he forced Valen to face him, "I just don't want any fucking person being close to you, not that healer girl or even my best friend, stay far away from them because you're mine."

Valen wanted to take her eyes away from Kaelvryn but he positioned her in place, "your Majesty, I'm your personal bodyguard but..."

"But nothing," he barking, "it's an order, I don't want to ever fucking see you in a close perimeter with those two people I mentioned, do you get that clear?"

She nodded, her arms ached from how hard Kaelvryn was pressing it then someone cleared his throat.

They both moved to where the sound was coming from, Lucas stood with a mischievous grin plastered on his face.

"Am I ruining something?" He said.

Kaelvryn stood back gently and Valen quickly used that opportunity to sprint away, "seems I did ruin something," Lucas said with a sass in his tone.

Kaelvryn dashed him a heavy glare, "what are you doing here?" His voice was low filled with rage.

"Just wanted to come and discuss plans with you for the upcoming festival and red moon shenanigans when I met you yelling at my poor Valen."

Kaelvryn walked straight to the door locking it behind him and glared at Valen, "I strictly told you that he's off limits."

"No," Lucas said with a smirk on his face, "you only said he was your personal bodyguard."

"And that fucking means off limits, he's mine alone." Kaelvryn tried not to sound harsh but it failed drastically.

"Well my good friend," Lucas patted Kaelvryn's back calmly amd walked to a chair crossing his legs, "unfortunately for you, I already have eyes on him and I'm not backing down for anyone."

Kaelvryn scoffed, "you better be joking."

Lucas arched a brow, "the minute I sparred with him, you already knew that I wasn't joking besides I have a better chance at winning his heart than you."

"What the fuck are you talking about?" He gritted his teeth while glaring at his friend.

"You know what I'm talking about pal, you're the king of the most powerful species in this world, do you think the council would let

love a man?" He arched a brow and the sad truth about it was that he was right.

"And there's me, who everyone already knows my path, so tell me, who has a bigger advantage?" He suddenly stood up and walked towards Kaelvryn.

His gaze was low, "you are my good friend and I would never betray you but this one, I'm gonna get him, so just close a blind eye to it."

Lucas voice was low and steady, almost like he was literally threatening Kaelvryn, he walked past him about leaving when Kaelvryn slightly turned.

"As you said, I'm the king of the most powerful species in the world, my say is my say, and if I say Valen is mine, you do not cross that limit."

His voice was actually calm and steady but Lucas only chuckled softly, his hand on the door knob, "then may the best man win."

Then he walked out from the room, Kaelvryn exhaled harshly, with Lucas here, he needed to be on his feet at every given second.

He pressed his palms so hard that blood start dripping slowly, "I can't lose to him...never, Valen solely belongs to me."
