Lucas turned to Kaelvryn, "what the fuck do you want from me?"
"I want you to stand in place of me," Kaelvryn said abruptly.
"Since when did we loom like twins and I had no idea?" Lucas's tone came a bit harsh.
"This is no time for your joke or harsh words and you know exactly what I'm talking about," Kaelvryn said.
"I will not be shape shifting into you, I promised never to use that power of mine again," Lucas turned his head the other refusing to look at Kaelvryn.
"It's only for a while, at least for the few minutes I would be outside," Kaelvryn tried to reason with him.
Lucas furrowed his brows, running his hand through his hair, "have you forgotten what happened when I shape shifted into you? No..." he shook his head, "I would not be risking that again."
"It's an order Lucas not a request," Kaelvryn growled.
Lucas stood up abruptly and faced Kaelvryn, he gazed deep into Kaelvryn, "have you forgotten that I certainly do not take orders from you?"
Lucas brushed past him then stopped, "when you've thought of a better plan, you know where to find me."
He banged the chambers door and held himself as he tried his best to yell angrily, "stubborn asshole, I wonder how he's still alive."
He turned and suddenly faced Lord Aldridge, "Lord Aldridge, I see you haven't left," Lucas was definitely not entertaining him.
Lord Aldridge held a tight smile across his face, "I was wondering if you'd join me for tea."
Lucas wanted to just walk past him buy remained calm, "would it just be tea we would be having?"
"I'm actually intrigued about your travels and would like to discuss it further with you."
"Lead the way," Lucas said calmly.
Lord Aldridge led them to a small study, "get us some tea," he told the maids who were nearby. They bowed and left.
Lucas settled quickly, "so why do you need to see me...Father?"
The moment Lord Aldridge checked if the coast was clear, he turned to his son and brought out a bat from his robe, "you crazy son of mine."
He launched forward and wanted to hit Lucas, "Ahh..." Lucas cried out and rushed to safety, "you haven't seen your only child for a long time and you're resulting to this."
"I rather be childless than have you as a child," he cried out then suddenly he placed his hand behind his neck.
"Father..." Lucas ran to his father, before he could react Lord Aldridge spanked him with the bat, he winced in pain, "you really want me to join mother don't you?"
"At least she would have the headache and not me," he removed his body from Lucas embrace and went back to his seat.
There was a slight knock, "come in..." the maids came in and dropping the tea and snacks on the center of the table.
They left and Lucas went to his rubbing the place his father had hit him, "I don't ever see scolding or hitting Kael like this."
Lord Aldridge raised his bat again but Lucas held it quickly, and chuckled awkwardly, "damn I've really missed this attitude of yours."
"This is no time for jokes Lucas, were you able to find anything that can help lift the curse," Lord Aldridge asked with hope in his eyes.
Lucas paused mid air and dropped his cup then let out a tired sigh, "there's a way."
"Then why the moody face, we're supposed to happy that we can uplift this deadly curse."
"That's the problem father," he sipped his tea gently, "I found an ancestral witch and she told me the only way Kael's curse can be cursed is for him to suck the blood of someone he loves dearly on the red moon."
Lord Aldridge's smile turned cold immediately, "what...?"
"Knowing how good Kaelvryn is, he wouldn't dare fall in love with any–" Lucas paused immediately, his mind trailing to Valen, he wouldn't let Kaelvryn win Valen and risk him...never.
"There must be a way," Lord Aldridge muttered.
"I'll still do my best," Lucas replied, "Father, what are the councilmen planning for the festival? And don't tell me not to involve in the elder matters when this is involves life and death of my best friend."
Lord Aldridge remained quiet, then he slowly raised his eyes to meet his son, "knowing what you can do, how am I sure you haven't found out?"
"Dad..."
"All I can say is that you should be wary of Lord Damien and Lord Valor, Andros just wags his tail to those two, he doesn't hold a candle to where they stand."
Lucas wasn't quite convinced with his father's words, "they want to use the blood moon to unleash Kael's mad side to the public and then publicly execute him, isn't it?"
Lord Aldridge sipped his tea gently, "you surely are my son."
"This is no time for praises, that's insane and I know you can stop it," Lucas yelled.
"No one knows that you're my son and that gives you a bigger advantage than me because of your closeness to the King."
Lucas licked his lips harshly, running his hands through his hair over and over again, biting his hands to conceal the anger that was rising in his chest.
"Isn't Kael like a son to you, why let him go through all this?" His voice broke, trying to hold all the emotions in.
Lord Aldridge placed his cup on the table and stared at his son, who's eyes now were mixed with red and black filled with rage and anger, he let out a calm sigh.
"You need to pour these emotions elsewhere, I will continue to see Kael as my very own blood, his father and I went through hell to keep this realm tight but those monsters are ready to use curse against and that's why you're there to protect him at all times."
"Is that why you requested for my return?" Lucas asked gently.
"It was either that or every Lycanris blood would spill on the day of the festival for some greedy bastard."
Lucas threw his head back, placing his hand on his face, "Kael asked me to shape shift into him."
Lord Aldridge almost felt out from his chair, "you do no such thing, do you hear me?" He yelled out.
"I already declined and honestly I'm running out of options, the festival is close by and those bastards are looking for ways to finally kill Kaelvryn."
Lord Aldridge held a stern expression, "I understand everyone's plight right now but do not I repeat, ever shape shift into him, I can't bare to lose either of you."
Lucas simply nodded and took some snacks to eat, then suddenly he rose from the chair, "Father I think I know a way how we can avoid any shenanigans on the festival."
"What are you talking about?" Lord Aldridge now was completely confused, the smirk on his son face told him that he was certainly up to no good.
"Trust me, this would be exciting and those bastards would never see it coming," Lucas smiled widely. "I need to go now," he bowed and left.
The moment he came out from the room, he noticed some movements, he slightly moved to left and saw a shadow, he continued going forward, the person was still following.
Then he escaped between the halls and grabbed the person and hit them to the wall, forming a dagger in his hands, his eyes widened when he saw it was Valen.
"You're Lord Aldridge son..."
