Conrad thought and closed his eyes for a moment. If something like that were to happen when he did not know there was an alien aspect to it.
He would be careful but still accept the invitation of the Viridian Lizard creature.
But now that there is NEN involved, he was reluctant to accept such invites. Conrad knew that it is too easy to make a new ability using conditions such as invitation and location.
If he were to do it, the conditions would be simple.
"Invite somebody and expect them to accept it."
"After accepting, let them in a designated area."
"If they enter after accepting the invitation, activate the nen ability."
Such an ability would work in most cases and be powerful enough to inflict a great deal of damage.
Due to the fact that the target needs to be invited and enter an unknown designated place with his own intentions.
"But I am curious about what he wants to tell."
"If he is intelligent enough to invite, he must know something."
"This is a big discovery..."
"It would change the secret knowledge of the animal Viridian Lizard to the secret knowledge of an intelligent magical creature that is capable of using nen..."
"I am not sure if it is capable of using nen, but it is safe to assume it can."
Conrad left the cave and went to the area where the creature made him a signal and then waited.
"If it wants to talk, it needs to be here." Conrad thought and waited.
After about several minutes, the same creature showed himself. It was hiding behind a tall, sharp-looking rock.
Conrad looked at the creature and used Gyo to analyze.
"About the half size of a human, purplish and greenish colors suggest a poisonous body..."
"Humanoid, but has a lizard head; its hands are not like a monkey's but have claws..."
"It is capable of using simple ten, but it can intentionally..."
"On his right shoulder, there is some sort of a purple mushroom that moves every three seconds."
"Shrinking and expanding..."
Conrad thought, and then the creature got closer.
After it looked him in the eye, it spoke, using the common language of the world.
"Home..."
"My home," as it said, it pointed to the same area, most likely a cave of some sort.
Conrad nodded.
"Thank you for inviting me to your home, but I prefer to talk here."
"Can you tell me anything about yourself and this area..."
The creature looked and then pointed at himself.
"Izbis."
Conrad furrowed.
"You mean, your name is Izbis."
Creature nodded.
"Okay, Izbis, tell me about yourself more. What is this place and what are you?"
Izbis thought for a moment and then got closer as it said.
"I am a Viridian..."
Conrad caught the introduction of the creature; it did not say he was a Viridian Lizard but "Viridian."
Izbis then looked at the general area and then said it.
"This is Viridian Home; you are at my home."
"You should not be able to live here." Izbis continued.
Conrad smiled.
"I am not an ordinary human being; I am human, by the way."
Izbis nodded.
"I know your kind..."
"Your kind does not have the ability to live in this area; you are using something special to be able to live here."
Conrad laughed.
"You are right."
"My natural form cannot live here; I am using a special ability to keep myself alive here."
Conrad then asked.
"How is it possible for your kind to live here?"
Izbis answered; it seems like this question and its answer were not a secret to him.
"My race has this organ..." he pointed to the mushroom.
"It is called the Viridian Breath Mushroom; it lets us breathe and live in this area and most of the areas with what you call poison with no problem..."
Conrad listened intently and then asked.
"Is your organ, Viridian Breath Mushroom, something natural or special?" As he asked, he looked at the Izbis deep in the eye.
This question would answer much of these doubts about this place.
Izbis answered like it did not matter.
"Our race did not have it thousands of years ago."
"One of our ancestors discovered the Viridian and died for it; the kids of ours were born with it."
"It was a new thing for us, but it let us live in the places where dangerous creatures could not enter."
Conrad let out a deep breath.
"Now, I get it."
"Everything started to make sense."
Conrad understood several things from the words of Izbis.
When in huge danger, a Viridian Lizard, or Viridian, directly came to this area; after it ventured deep, it was affected by the poison.
His last wish was for his race to live and survive in this area.
It must be thought that if he dies here, dangerous creatures who hunted them down would die too.
"A new pact was formed."
Conrad believed Viridians to be natural nen users, at least capable of opening their pores to cause nen to awaken passively, like Komugi.
That ancestor may not know what he did, but his sacrifice, the deal he made with the geographical location, caused the next children to be born with the Viridian Breathing Mushroom.
Conrad then thought.
"This also means that the ancestors of viridians who caused them to have the organ must have made a deal with this area."
"I do not think that, just because he sacrificed his life, the whole race was survived."
"The Viridian Vein, maybe."
"It must have spoken to him and wanted him to accept conditions."
Conrad smiled and then nodded.
"Let me ask you one more thing, Izbis."
Izbis looked at Conrad and tilted his head to right.
"Are you and any of you able to leave the Viridian Area, as you call it home?"
Izbis shook his head, and his eyes showed deep fear.
"If any one of us tries to leave the area, all family of the individual that tried to leave gets killed violently."
"I remember one of my friends wanted to leave and see the outside..."
"But, as he tried to leave, he died, and after he died, his son, daughters, wife, uncles..."
"More than seventy Viridians died with him."
Conrad nodded.
"Now that is more of a powerful condition..."
"Other than giving his life, Ancestor Of Viridian also agreed to the request of Viridian Vein that his race will never leave the area, and if they try to leave the area, the leaver and his family will be sacrificed to the Viridian Vein."
Conrad nodded.
"What a weird thing to see and discover..." he thought.
