Conrad knew that in the end all of these experiences would increase his capability to use nen in different ways.
Truth be told, there are not many nen users who could manipulate their nen to the degree that they can make a filter on the spot and keep using it to breathe in a poisonous environment.
Just this, if known in the NEN user circles, would make Conrad a master that everybody would like to learn from.
"Okay..."
"I feel greater."
"The continuous use of the NEN filter is something harsh on my mental capacity, but at this stage, I should always use it..."
Conrad did not make a complete air filter and breath mask for himself.
He just used his "nen" within his mouth, his windpipe covered with his own, and stopped anything other than clean and fresh air from entering his body.
Basically, a protective nen against unfamiliar things, such as spores of the mushroom and clouds of poison.
"I should be coming close to the deep part of the Viridian Vein."
Conrad thought.
While Conrad kept moving, he stopped for a moment and then noticed an unusually large mushroom.
It was about to be the same size as a pumpkin, maybe even bigger than that.
Its color was purple and green mixed together; it was releasing the purplish and greenish smoke every second.
Conrad nodded.
"Viridian Mushroom..." he said to himself.
He then quickly used Gyo to inspect the mushroom in more detail. He did not want to get too close, as it is a known fact that the closer to the source of a poison you are, the more affected you will get from it.
As he concentrated on the mushroom, he noticed something.
"That is not natural."
"There is some sort of a link between Mushroom and the deeper part of the area."
"The line, almost invisible even when I use Gyo, slowly flickers and uses the clouds of spores to connect the Viridian Mushroom to deeper parts of the forest."
"If I am not wrong, it must be connected to Vein."
Conrad then let out a cold breath and asked himself.
"But why is there an aura connection between Viridian Vein and Viridian Mushroom?"
"Why does a vein of poisonous mineral and mushroom have a connection that originates from 'Nen'?"
Conrad pondered this within his mind. He wanted to know and understand, but he also knew that if he wanted to keep seeing more, he must move.
"So."
"At this stage, I have no safe way to take hold of this viridian mushroom."
"Now, I saw the flicker of thin rope going straight towards the Viridian Vein and forming a connection with the Viridian Mushroom."
"Everything became more complicated."
When Conrad arrived here, he did not expect that there would be men involved in this mineral vein of poison and mushroom.
Now that Nen is involved, everything has become more dangerous than it was already.
"Do I know that there is not some sort of a condition if I were to try to take the Viridian Mushroom with me?"
"There is nen involved; nen can be used to defend themselves even if these are not intelligent beings like humans."
"It is known that mushrooms, plants, and many more other animals, even without intelligence, are capable of having defensive mechanisms that shock the many scientists."
"That is not even rare back on Earth; here in this world of Hunter x Hunter, where the known world map equals Earth in size and the real world map is who knows how many times bigger..."
"It would be a joke to not think that any plant, mushroom, or even rock, if needed, does not have protective measures against threats..."
"Not to mention, there is now nen involved..."
"Too much of a problem is this mission."
Conrad said but still continued.
He felt weird.
It was truly some sort of an experience that he did not expect, which made it more meaningful to him.
A plant, a mineral, or a mushroom, capable of using nen knowingly or not and connected to each other in some way.
"What a weird place."
After Conrad continued, he finally passed the threshold and entered the Deepest Part.
The moment he entered, he dropped on his knees.
"Fuck!"
"The spores and poison power here are much more potent..."
"If I were not using 'Ren'-level nen to protect myself, I would be getting poisoned to death in just ten seconds."
Conrad's aura flared up, and a huge amount of aura started radiating from his body.
His aura formed a protective barrier around him. When a cloud of poisonous spores and anything that is harmful get close to him, it is blocked by his own aura.
"I am not that good when it comes to Ken, but with my aura, I should hold it for at least five hours..."
"But, considering I may have to leave, I should have at the very most four hours of time."
Conrad kept on walking faster and faster; he wanted to find a safe spot in the area.
Some sort of a cave, maybe, or any kind of place that he can find where the poison level in the air equals the mid part; it would be fine.
Right now, if he were to stop using "Ken," he would die in under ten seconds.
In a sense, ordinary "Ken," where Gon and Killua learned from Biscuit to fight against Knuckle and Shoot, would not be enough here.
Due to his capability, Conrad was able to put his will and emotions behind "Ken" to have a more protective aura against poison.
But of course, as the Nen always demands conditions and sacrifice, his "Ken" right now provides only 10% defense against physical and Nen attacks.
After Conrad moved on, he stopped and placed his hand on a split tree; he then looked down the valley.
"It is too hard to see anything."
"But this valley must have some sort of caves to enter where the poison may not be higher."
"I should go in."
Conrad then jumped down and kept on going down from the valley to the deeper part of Viridian Vein.
While he was moving on the top of the tree, he touched a purple-colored monkey-and-lizard-mixed creature with beaming greenish eyes, which watched him and nodded.
It was the Viridian Lizard, but it was not like a lizard at all.
