Chapter 39 - Seele Simulator - 39

Led by the trio, Lunelle quickly arrived at that dangerously infamous suite from the storyline.

'Sigh... should I warn everyone that resting here might risk an attack?'

Lunelle hesitated internally, wondering if she should still try to intervene in the plot while there was time—maybe suggest the main group move somewhere less likely to be ambushed by Honkai beasts at night.

'Probably not,' she thought. 'Judging from what happened earlier today, tonight's assault is practically unavoidable.'

Remembering how her dear Mei had still scraped her hand in battle today, and how her beloved Kiana had still licked the wound…

Well, at least because Bronya had been sticking to Lunelle all day, she hadn't threatened Kiana with cannons to get away from Mei.

But considering that classic yuri trope had played out right before her eyes, Lunelle strongly suspected that even if they rested elsewhere, they'd probably just run into Honkai Beast B or Honkai Beast C or something equally troublesome.

And the odds of that happening were definitely not low!

Even if, by some miracle, they avoided this destined night raid by moving now, the main group—who had fought so hard to break out of Nagazora—would still most likely have to face Cocolia without any Herrscher-level firepower.

And let's not forget, early in the Honkai story, Cocolia still had control over two artificial Welt Clones!

Given the trio's current strength, Lunelle really didn't think they stood a chance against opponents like that.

Not to mention, the stance of Bronya—currently the strongest fighter among the trio on paper—was also somewhat unpredictable.

But in Lunelle's view, the probability of Bronya switching sides on the spot was pretty high.

After all, Bronya still had that bio-chip in her head!

Even if her dear Bronya rebelled and turned traitor within Anti-Entropy, Cocolia clearly still had ways to make her obey.

'Forget it. Looks like I'll just have to follow the plot for now and see if I can manage to keep myself alive!'

Thinking of the miserable fate awaiting her if Cocolia saw through her identity, Lunelle resigned herself to relying on her own wits to find a way to survive tonight's Honkai Beast ambush.

Perhaps because she'd been caught and snuggled intensely by Bronya this morning, a large portion of her cooldown time had been reduced.

The time until Lunelle could start her next simulation was almost up.

She just wasn't sure if she could activate another simulation before tonight's likely clash of titans.

Soon, it was nearly time to sleep.

Lunelle suddenly noticed that Kiana, Mei, and Bronya were all looking right at her—their gazes oddly intense—while she stood there, utterly confused.

Lunelle: ???

This… this isn't right, is it? Why is everyone staring at me?

"Um… shouldn't everyone get some rest? Why are you all looking at me like that?"

Feeling inexplicably unnerved under their stares, Lunelle grew so embarrassed she wanted to crawl into a toy box.

Could it be… she had something unclean on her?

Muttering awkwardly, she instinctively checked herself over.

But thanks to her bound innate trait, Lunelle's skin was still flawlessly pale and clean, almost unbelievably so.

Even after a whole day of exhausting travel, she hadn't felt any unpleasant odor from her sweat.

She couldn't be dirty, right?

"Hehe, it really is time to rest. Since Mei held Seele last night, shouldn't it be my turn to sleep in the middle tonight?"

Looking at Lunelle's shy, adorable expression, Kiana was the first to lose patience.

As she spoke, she reached out a claw, aiming to scoop up the sweet, soft little Lunelle into her arms for some good snuggling.

But before Kiana's claw could touch Lunelle's slender waist, a small duck-like hand swatted the evil claw away.

"Has Idiot Kiana forgotten the naughty thing she did this morning? Bronya believes such a scheming bad girl doesn't deserve to rest with Seele."

Saying this, a certain duck-faced Bronya unceremoniously summoned Project Bunny to firmly "reject" the Idiot Kiana from approaching her precious Seele.

Reminded by Bronya, Mei also recalled the perverted look Kiana had given little Lunelle that morning.

"Kiana, I think Bronya has a point. Tonight, it's better if you keep some distance from Lunelle."

Mei's face darkened as she joined forces with Bronya, jointly pushing a certain ambitious but ultimately unsuccessful poor worm to the outskirts.

Faced with their united front, Kiana felt terribly wronged.

But since it was Mei's request, no matter how upset she was, Kiana could only puff her cheeks resentfully, retreat to the sofa corner to draw circles, muttering things like, "But I only thought about it, I didn't even get to touch her…" and other loser lines.

For a moment, the small room was filled with a cheerful atmosphere.

"Finally, some rest after running around all day."

"There doesn't seem to be a proper bed in this room. Tonight, little Lunelle can sleep on my lap! And Bronya, you too, of course."

After pushing away the dangerous element Kiana, Mei settled by the floor-to-ceiling window and gestured for Bronya and Lunelle to rest their heads on her black-stockinged thighs.

"Ah… okay… sure."

With an invitation like that from her dear Mei, Lunelle naturally wouldn't refuse such offered lap-pillow benefits.

As for Bronya, being able to rest together with cute Seele on her sister Mei's lap was more than satisfactory.

With her flushed, adorable face pressed against her dear Mei's elastic, sheer-stockinged thigh, Lunelle's already nearly depleted simulation cooldown rapidly decreased through the intimate contact with her beloved.

And just as the simulator's cooldown finished completely…

BOOM!!!

A huge, sharp silicon greatsword violently tore through the small room where Lunelle and the others were resting.

"Danger!!!"

Mei's internal alarms blared. In an instant, she grabbed a sweet, soft Lunelle with her left hand and a duck with her right.

Executing a last-second dodge—though without triggering Time Fracture—she barely managed to pull both youngsters away, avoiding a bloody bisection at the last possible moment.

Looking out through the torn opening, a massive Templar-Class Honkai Beast, easily five to six meters tall, was slowly retracting the greatsword it had just swung down.

Clearly, the very Templar-Class Honkai Beast from the original story—the one that directly triggered the awakening of the Herrscher of Thunder—couldn't wait to come knocking and meet its doom!
