Chapter 1 - Death and Reincarnation

It was a summer evening in a lab, where Juan Mavin a chemistry masters practicing student was working in the lab all alone, when it was his closing time he had placed every chemical he used back to their rightful place. He picked up the glass containers from the table and rinse them, air dried them and placed them in the rack. He noticed a blue ray of light touched the glass which he was standing in front, suddenly a white bright flash followed by a bang was the last thing he heard.

He slowly opened his eyes and he woke up at and empty space; The space had no walls, no ceiling, no floor. just an endless expanse that breathe like a living canvas. There was no sun above, yet everything glowed with a soft brilliance of light, it was as though the light itself was alive. Countless stars hung in every direction, scattered like silver dust across the skyless void. The air flew around in shifting shades of purple and light blue, blending and flowing like brushstrokes, it was as thought the world was being painted.

"where am I?" he thought to himself as he looked at his reflection on the floor he was sitting,

"am I dreaming… few seconds ago… I was."

"welcome to the after life… Juan" a cold elegant female voice said slowly behind Juan interrupting his thoughts as he turned to the direction of the voice.

"after life?" he repeated questioning as he looked at his body again and he was almost transparent.

"who are you?" he asked as he slowly approached the entity.

"My name is Orrynthis the goddess of origins; beginnings and ends." Her graceful voice vibrated the air and Juan got close to her. She was sitting on a throne of purple crystals which were floating in the space.

"A goddess?"

"so what have I done in my past life to earn your attention?" he asked looking her straight in her eyes

"you… Juan Marvin, you have been an exceptional person… A real science master." She answered with a smile and she blinked, she raised her right hand.

A projection of Juan's life was flashed through in an instant, he wondered where their conversation was heading.

"And what does that have to do with my current predicament?" he asked

"indeed you were supposed to live long but due to an unfortunate incident you died."

"and I'm in need of someone of your caliber who can help me to save a particular world, so I called for your soul here." She explained in a simple short way that made sense.

"To save another world you summoned my soul here, without my permission." He claimed

"yes, you are deemed fit for the criteria needed to save that world." She answered with her legs crossed majestically, She rested the side of her chin on her right hand, her elbow propped on the armrest. Her left hand lay gently on the other side of the throne. The pose was relaxed, yet it carried a quiet authority, it was as though even time itself paused to wait for her to finish speaking.

"that world?" he asked as she pulled a sparkle of light which was distant but it seems awfully close to her. It was as though they fell into that light which turned out to be a planet.

"this is the world that need saving?" Juan asked as she stood up and approached him elegantly as she looked down at where they were standing.

"yes." She answered and nodded as their view moved around the planet and the sights. The kingdom and all the villages the continent one after the other, she showed it to him.

"But I think they are doing just fine, I don't think they need saving" he said as she stopped at a fancy Manor, where everyone were running around.

"what is happening?" Juan asked as he Wondered why all of them were running around into the mansion.

"this is the Commander in army Manor Hermes Von Dal" she answered

"the Commander??" he asked looking at her with his eyes widen

"he is the fifth son of the empire; Kaigareth."

"this is the family you'd be born to…" she said

"They are currently in the midst of delivery of the first son of Hermes" she added and looked at him with a smirk

"in other words me??" he answered and she nodded

"you just as smart as I thought you were." She praised him

"There is just an hour left before you'd be pulled out of your mother."

"are there anything you want to call my attention to, or are there any wishes you'd want?" she asked

"I have been given another trial at life, I guess this should be enough." He answered politely

"hmm… you are interesting, well then as a for of gratitude, I bestow to you infinite mana." She said as she got up close to him and pulled his head towards hers, she kissed his forehead and a blinding light shone from his head which altered his hair color and turned it white.

"well then my hero, the fate of the world is in your hands." She said

"wait you haven't told me what I would do to save the world…." He could say before he was warped into the world.

"get the water she is loosing a lot of blood." he could hear as he felt soft cotton fiber warped around him as he cried. He was able to open up his eyes a bit and caught a glimpse of his surroundings.

He saw a woman covered in blood as the nurse were cleaning her up.

"I guess that's my mother." He thought in his mind.

"Why am I being held by hard hands?" He thought as he looked at the figure holding him it was a woman who was dressed covering her face

"shh- don't worry young master we will keep you safe." The figure which was holding him said which turned out to be a female.

Due to his frail body he closed his eyes back as all he could hear were sounds and he continued crying.

"I wish I could see what's happening around me." The thought in his mind

"but this frail body." He finished as he only gave into listening—

"hurry…" glass shattering, wind current rushing over his face, he felt gravity, and gallops until there was a stop

"what is happening right now" he asked in his thought

"am I not supposed to be resting in my mother arm and taking my first meal?" He wondered as he felt he was being given to another.

"We tried our best we couldn't save her, it seems they are after him to." He could hear the voice of another man

"I see…" A deep masculine voice said.

"master we deserve to die." Multiple voice said as he heard thuds and sounds of swords being pulled out of it scathe.

"you've done well my Shadow demons." The masculine voice said with authority, there was trace of anger in those words as the atmosphere was filled with pure rage.

"He looks just like her." The voice said as he pulled Juan close to himself

"He carries the blood of Dal, he is my son, and the one most worthy to bear the name of our ancestor the Hero MARCO" the voice said As he lifts the baby up

"your name is Marco Van Dal II." The voice announced and a ray of light shone from above and hit Marco,

"so my name is now Marco the name of my ancestor, the Hero." Juan thought as the ray of light hits him and he felt energy in his body.

"shadow demons…" the voice called

"yes master Hermes." The shadow demons answered as they bowed their heads

"take him away from this continent."

"keeping him here would put him in danger."

"so when he is of age 12 he can return home." Hermes said as they listened

"yes sir." They answered

"raise him up to be a worthy man of his name." Hermes said.

"as you wish master." They answered and Hermes kissed Marco on his forehead and put the hero's pendant around his neck and gave him to his shadow demons.

"Go now. Keep in touch through the secret communication mirror." Hermes commanded as they dispersed.

"My dear Felicia. I have failed you, I'm sorry." Hermes said as he knelt down in despair.

"I promised to protect you and yet I couldn't fulfill my promise." He added as he stood up and walked towards the mansion.

Hermes hardened himself like he knew nothing, he was told he had lost his wife and unborn child, he played along, and He went to check Felicia. She was already dressed and on the next day she was brought to the cathedral where the Priest blessed her body, and when it was dawn she was buried.

Hermes looked up to the raining sky and sighed

"I hope you can forgive me Felicia." he said standing in front of her grave.

This was the beginning of how Juan Mavis who was reincarnated into another world would become the Hero; Marco Van Dal II.
