Chapter 10 - Newlyweds

Daniella's POV

It has been on my mind to collect the house and sell it for a while now, but the contract said I have to live in it for three months before selling it. I agree to live in it for three months under the pretense of being married to Mr Gary.

"I'll leave you now" he said to me.

"Oh wait, please come check out the house with me," I pleaded with him.

He agreed to come along. We got there and the house was better than I imagined, it screamed luxury and I wondered how much it'll cost. I sat on a cushion bouncing to see how soft it was. Mr. Gary looked at me with amusement and smiled with his eyes.

"I need to go shopping tomorrow to get a couple items so our house will look more convincing," I said to him.

"I'll come along," he replied.

I was surprised and happy at the same time.

I walked him outside the house, just as he was about to step into his car, we saw the CEO of the beauty company.

"You're the couple that won right?" He asked immediately.

"Yes, we are," My Gary said, wrapping his arms around my shoulder.

"Okay, I live here" he said, pointing to the house opposite mine. "Let's have breakfast tomorrow at the estate cafeteria so we can get to know each other better".

"Sure thing" I answered before waving at him.

I panicked.

"Relax, I'll spend the night here, have breakfast, then be on my way" Mr Gary said to me.

My heart sank, and my face lit up.

The next morning, it was time to go for breakfast. I handed Gary a bag.

"What's this" he asked

"Open it" I said.

As soon as he did, he froze.

"What?!!!"

"It's a matching top," I said. "I figured we would look like a real couple if we matched outfits".

He went inside quietly to change his outfit, he looked so handsome it made me blush for a second.

"Shall we?"

"Of course," I replied.

We got to the cafe and sat there for a while, waiting for the CEO to come, but he was nowhere to be found. Thirty minutes later, he called to tell us about an impromptu meeting and we should reschedule. But he'll be coming to our house next.

"He said we should reschedule" I turned to Gary

"Oh, that's okay".

"But there's an issue though," I said, looking away from him. "He wants to have dinner at the house on Sunday".

"Daniella, this is becoming too much for me, I didn't sign up for all of these," he said. "I've become less focused at work and everything because I'm working on your stupid scam scheme" he blurted out.

This is true, very true. My chest tightened and I felt tears well up in my eyes. I turned away to clean my tears but he held me back.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shout. I'm just stressed from all the walking and preparations" he apologized.

"Will you come on Sunday?" I asked him, sobbing.

"Will you stop crying?" He asked back.

My heart froze and a smile curled up on my face.

"Of course" I grinned.
