Stef's POV
"Hi mom, hope you're good? I have something to tell you, I'm coming home today" I said before dropping my phone.
I tried calling her, but she didn't answer, I decided to leave a voicemail for her. Things are getting serious with Jenny already, I think it's time I told my mom.
"My darling angel, how are you?" My mom said as she hugged me tightly.
I hugged her back "I'm okay mummy, where's Constance?" I asked.
My mom called for her and she ran towards my bag, not me. She opened them then hugged me after confirming I got her what she wanted.
"Silly girl" my mom said, turning to Constance. "What did you want to talk about?" she turned to me and gestured for me to sit down.
My heart raced, I could hear the sound of my heartbeat. I became skeptical about telling her but I found my courage after a moment of silence.
"Daniella and I got divorced" I started. "I have someone else in mind, she's better than Daniella" I said.
My mom looked at me with eyes as cold as ice. I could see rage written on her face. I averted my gaze from her as u waited for her to speak up. She didn't talk, she got up and went to the kitchen, grabbing a glass of wine and drinking the whole thing at a go. She came back a minute later and sat beside me, so close that we shared body heat.
"You were saying?" She asked.
"Mom, I know you liked Daniella but I lost feelings for her, I'm so sorry" I apologized, moving away from her as discreetly as I could.
"Who's this new girl?" My mom asked me.
"Her name is Jennifer, she's a coworker. She comes from a wealthy and a prestigious family".
My mother's face lit up instantly, she grew more curious.
"Tell me more about her"
"She's very beautiful. If I get married into her family, we will be rich for life, mom I love her and I thought about this" i added.
"Well, if you love her and she's wealthy, you can go for it".
I smiled, I've always known my mother to value money more than a life. Knowing Jenny is wealthy only makes things easier for me.
"I'll see you soon, I have to go on a trip with Jenny" I said to my mom as I left the house.

Gary's POV
"Shawn, I'm not in the mood to talk about this today" I said as I turned away from him, arranging my table.
"It's just $3000, I'll pay you back in two weeks I promise" he said, pleading with me.
"I don't have such an amount so spare right now, I just got back from the US a while ago, I'm a bit low on money" I said to him.
He looked at his foot and kicked a chair softly. Seconds later, he looked up at me like a lost puppy.
"Can I ask Ashley for some money?" He asked, grinning at me.
"Of course not!!." I exclaimed.
"Oh well, I'll just tell grandma what you did with Ashley" he said, turning away from me slowly.
"Wait, I'll give you, you must keep it a secret" I said, picking up my phone and sending the money to him.
"Speaking about secrets, who's she?" He asked.
My heart sank.
