Chapter 103 – "In His Name"
Time had never felt slower.
The walls of STAR Labs echoed with the frantic typing of keys, the hum of machines scanning multiversal frequencies, and the crackling tension in the air.
Barry stood by the monitors, his arms folded tightly across his chest, jaw clenched. He hadn't spoken since they returned. Not really. His eyes never left the screen.
Sara leaned on a console nearby, silently watching him.
"Dante saved us," she whispered, breaking the silence.
Barry didn't respond.
Across the room, Cisco was a whirlwind of motion, fingers flying across the keyboard. "I'm running a full search using Kara's bio signature—if Eobard took her somewhere, he had to leave a trace, even with cloaking tech."
Wells turned from his station. "She's Kryptonian. Even cloaked, her radiation trail is unique. Combine that with the breach readings—"
"I've got something!" Cisco interrupted.
Everyone snapped to attention.
A red marker blinked on the map.
Cisco magnified it. "An abandoned offshoot lab—it used to be a backup site for STAR Labs. Shut down years ago after the accelerator incident. No security, no maintenance, completely forgotten."
Wells squinted. "Which makes it perfect for Eobard."
Cisco nodded grimly. "Coordinates are locked in."
Barry stepped forward. "That's where they took her. That's where we end this."
He started to move but paused—his hand hovering above the console. His voice came low, rough.
"Dante gave us this shot. He bought us the time. I thought he was gone forever, and then—he comes back. Just to save us again." He clenched his fists. "I'm not letting that be for nothing."
Sara walked up and put a hand on his shoulder. "We save Kara. In his name."
Oliver joined them. "Let's bring her home."
---
Minutes later...
The jet flew low, cloaked in stealth. The abandoned lab rose in the distance, hidden among shattered industrial ruins. Crumbling towers. Collapsed smokestacks. A graveyard of forgotten tech.
Barry stared out the window, eyes burning. "This place used to be part of STAR Labs."
"Yeah," Cisco said. "Before Thawne decided to break the timeline every other week."
The jet landed, and the team moved quickly—Barry, Oliver, Sara, . Each of them quiet. Focused. Hearts heavy, but driven.
Inside, the lab was pitch-black. Dust clung to every surface. Lights flickered faintly, powered by emergency generators.
And in the center—a containment chamber.
Within it, Kara lay unconscious, bound to a surgical table by glowing restraints. Her breathing was shallow. Kryptonite needles hovered near her chest.
Eobard stood beside her, dressed in black and gold, his smirk cruel and arrogant.
"Well," he drawled. "Took you long enough."
Barry stepped forward, fists clenched. "Step away from her."
Eobard rolled his eyes. "You're always so dramatic. She's not dead—yet. I've kept her alive out of the kindness of my heart." He smirked. "Pun intended."
"Where's Supergirl-X?" Oliver asked, arrow already nocked.
"She's recovering. The transplant will happen within the hour. Kara's heart... will save her. Balance. Restoration. Two sides of the same coin."
"You're insane," Sara snapped.
"I'm a visionary," Eobard said. "One who understands sacrifice. You should be thanking me. Dante understood that. He gave his life to save you."
Barry's eyes flashed.
"You don't get to speak his name."
Without warning—he moved.
Lightning exploded from Barry's form as he surged forward, but Eobard was already in motion. Yellow and red streaks collided, crashing across the lab in bursts of speed and sparks. The others jumped into action—Sara slicing through security drones, Oliver covering her with precision shots, Ray shielding Kara with energy blasts.
Barry fought Eobard with fury, every punch a burst of emotion.
"You used Dante's name to buy time," Barry growled. "But he was ten times the man you'll ever be."
"I admired him," Eobard laughed. "He was a force of nature. Unpredictable. Savage. You couldn't control him. But I could've made him great."
Barry struck him with a sonic punch that sent him flying into the wall.
"And that's why you lost," Barry said.
Eobard groaned as he fell, sparks flickering around him.
Oliver rushed to Kara's side and began disabling the restraints. "She's still breathing. We can save her."
"Get her out of here!" Barry shouted.
Sara nodded and helped Oliver lift Kara. "We're not losing anyone else."
Behind them, Eobard stirred, rage in his eyes.
But just as he moved to rise—a blue crackle of lightning struck him down.
He screamed.
And standing over him—covered in blood, battered, torn, and smiling—was Dante.
Barry froze.
Oliver and Sara turned, shocked.
Kara stirred.
"Dante...?" Barry whispered.
Dante wiped blood from his mouth, limping forward. "Told you I'd be right behind you."
"But how—"
"Speed Force didn't answer me," he said. "But it didn't abandon me either."
He looked down at Eobard. "You talk too much."
And with a final blow, Dante knocked Eobard unconscious.
The lab was silent except for Kara's breathing.
Barry stared at him. "You made it."
Dante looked at him. "I said I'd be right behind you, didn't I?"
He grinned, broken and tired, but alive.
Sara laughed softly, relief washing over her. "You're insane."
Kara blinked her eyes open, whispering, "Dante…?"
He nodded. "You're safe now."
---
Later, back at STAR Labs...
Kara recovered in the med bay, surrounded by friends.
Barry stood with Dante outside the glass, watching her rest.
"You did it," Barry said.
Dante shrugged. "We did it. I just punched more people."
He looked at the others—Sara, Oliver, Cisco.
"This time... I ran toward something."
Barry held out a hand. "Welcome home."
Dante took it.
