Chapter 102 – "The Last Smile"
The Nazi headquarters loomed ahead like a black iron fist punching into the sky, guarded by towers of steel, drones circling like vultures. The vehicle—a stolen Nazi transport—rolled up toward the front gate, its headlights cutting through the smoke-filled air.
Inside the vehicle, Oliver sat stiffly in the passenger seat, dressed in the dark uniform of his Earth-X counterpart, a scowl etched onto his face. Sara and Barry sat quietly in the back, cloaked in silence. Dante sat at the wheel, his eyes flicking lazily toward the approaching checkpoint.
As they pulled up to the gate, a stern soldier stepped forward, rifle at his side. His eyes narrowed suspiciously.
"State your business," the soldier barked.
But the moment his eyes landed on Oliver, his expression shifted. His pupils widened in panic, and his spine snapped straight.
"H-Herr Führer!" the soldier gasped, instantly saluting. "Apologies, sir!"
Without waiting for a reply, the gate creaked open.
Dante smirked and leaned back in his seat. "Well hello there, Führer," he said with a chuckle.
Oliver shot him a glance. "Try not to enjoy this so much."
"I'll try," Dante grinned.
The car rolled inside.
The fortress interior was cold, clinical, brutalist. Stone, steel, and shadows. No one stopped them. General Lance's death earlier that morning had left a vacuum in command. Their uniforms and confident stride gave no reason to question.
They moved quickly.
Dante led them down a lower corridor, into the heart of the fortress. The lights flickered overhead as they reached the chamber holding the breach generator—an orb of glowing tech suspended in anti-gravity, buzzing quietly. Beyond it, a swirling portal hummed: a direct line to Earth-Prime.
Just as Barry stepped toward it, the alarm screamed.
Red lights flashed. Sirens howled. Boots thundered overhead.
All around them, steel doors slammed open. Armed Nazi soldiers rushed in, weapons raised. The hallway behind them filled with black uniforms and barking voices.
Barry turned. "How the hell did they find us?!"
Dante didn't flinch. "Someone noticed the breach activating. It's locked to Supergirl-X. We weren't supposed to touch it."
Even worse—no one could phase. No speed. No blasts. The anti-meta tech was working.
Sara raised her fists. "Then we go down swinging."
But then—lightning.
Blue and white bolts danced around Dante's shoulders, crackling along his skin, burning through the sensors' suppression. His eyes glowed faintly with Speed Force energy.
Barry stared at him, stunned. "How...?"
Dante smirked. "Void Force is dead. After I came back, the Speed Force chose me. You really think these toy suppressors could hold that?"
He moved before anyone could respond.
A blur of motion. A flash of blue. A shockwave.
Dante tore into five soldiers in seconds, knocking them out cold before they could react. Sparks flew as his fists connected with metal. Smoke followed him.
"Run!" Dante shouted. "I'll hold them off!"
Barry stepped forward. "No! I'm not losing you again!"
"You're not," Dante said with a calm smile. "I'll be right behind you."
But Barry hesitated—too long.
So Dante acted.
He surged forward, faster than anyone could blink, and slammed into Barry, Oliver, and Sara, hurling them into the breach with a single powerful charge. Light engulfed them.
They vanished.
Behind them, Dante stood alone in a storm of red lights and shouting soldiers. Guns cocked. Orders screamed. His heart pounded, but he was calm.
He looked up toward the ceiling, speaking softly.
"…Is this my part?"
He didn't expect an answer.
The Speed Force had saved him once. Chosen him. But it was silent now. Watching.
Dante Hart, once a man of rage, revenge, and war… now stood peaceful.
Alone against an army.
He closed his eyes.
And then he ran.
Not with fury, not with vengeance, but with purpose. With clarity. For once in his life, his run wasn't to kill, or escape, or survive.
It was to save.
The first soldier fired.
Dante ducked, slid under the bullet, and sent him crashing into the wall.
Another came from behind—he spun, disarmed him, and shattered the rifle in his hands.
The next five fell with bursts of electricity and screaming.
Blood soaked his arms. His uniform tore. His mask burned away. His face bruised and bloodied—but the smile remained.
Because he knew they made it.
Because Kara would live.
Because this time, he chose this.

Meanwhile…
At STAR Labs, the breach swirled open in the middle of the room. Techs and allies rushed in, startled.
Three bodies tumbled through.
Barry hit the ground first, gasping.
Sara landed hard, rolling onto her side.
Oliver rose to his knees, disoriented.
They were back. On Earth-Prime.
Cisco ran in. "Barry?! Where's—what happened?!"
Barry sat up, panting, eyes wild.
"He—he stayed behind."
Oliver clenched his fists. "He saved us."
Sara whispered, "Dante…"
Cisco looked at them " what?"
The breach behind them pulsed again.
Then… it shut down.
Gone.
The chamber was silent now. The hum of the machine faded.
Barry stood slowly. "We go now. We find Kara. We stop them before they take her heart."
Cisco stepped forward, eyes wide. "Where is she?"
Barry turned, face stone-cold with resolve.
"Wherever they took her... we're bringing her back."
