Tang Xiaonan forced herself to be patient, enduring the torment of Jim Thorne's claws. 'Let this "third brother" of mine blow off some steam,' she thought. 'When we get home, I'll just have Phoebe Huxley redo my hair.'
But Jim Thorne, simmering with anger, got more and more out of hand. He couldn't control his claws, and both of Tang Xiaonan's pigtails came undone. Her hair was a mess, making her look like a little ghost, and strands were poking her in the eyes.
At the end of her rope, Tang Xiaonan really wanted to throttle this brat, but she held back.
