"Third Brother, candy!"
A chubby little hand reached out, holding an unwrapped piece of candy in its palm. Jim Thorne's eyes lit up. He looked up to see Tang Xiaonan beaming at him. Even though her hair was a bird's nest, she was still the cutest little sister in the whole village.
"Xiaonan, I was bad. Go on, hit me to let it all out!"
Jim Thorne leaned his face in. As long as his little sister was happy, a few slaps to the face were no big deal. It wasn't like she hadn't hit him before.
He felt a soft touch on his cheek. Tang Xiaonan patted him a few times, her chubby little face set in a fierce, kitten-like scowl. "If you ever pull my hair again, I... I'll have Dad spank your bottom until it blossoms!"
Jim Thorne hesitated. 'Never pulling her hair again is absolutely impossible.' The sight of his sister's little pigtails made his hands itch. If he didn't give them a few tugs, his whole day would feel off. But he couldn't make his sister angry, either.
