Laura Lowell rubbed her forehead, torn between laughter and tears. "Your parents are pushing you pretty hard. What are you going to do?"
"Loria, this is actually why I came to see you today. I was wondering if you could ask your good friend... Zachary Redgrave... to help me out and pretend to be my boyfriend?"
"Zachary Redgrave? Why him?"
"He's a huge celebrity, and tons of girls are crazy about him. If he were my boyfriend, it would make me look so good."
Laura looked at Nancy skeptically. "Are you sure that's the only reason? You really don't have even the tiniest crush on him?"
"I swear to the heavens, to the earth, and to the Queen Mother, I have absolutely no ulterior motives when it comes to Zachary Redgrave. It's purely to save face."
Nancy made a gesture of swearing an oath, speaking with such conviction that she really didn't seem to be lying.
