"Alright, alright. I'll get you set up now."
The doctor helped Hannah Hale with her IV, then packed up her medical kit and left.
Morgan Joyce, sitting in the hallway, saw the doctor emerge. He gave her a nod, then pushed the door open and entered the room.
He walked to the bedside, leaned over, and adjusted the blanket for Hannah Hale. "Go on and get some sleep. I'll keep an eye on your IV."
"Mm, thank you."
Hannah Hale nodded, closed her eyes, and slowly drifted off to sleep.

"You didn't stay up all night, did you?"
Early the next morning, Hannah Hale opened her eyes to see Morgan Joyce sitting beside her bed, his face looking a little worn.
Morgan Joyce took off his gold-rimmed glasses and wearily pinched the bridge of his nose. "I was worried your fever would return during the night, so I didn't dare sleep."
"You should go get some sleep, then. I'm feeling much better."
"Don't worry about it. What would you like to eat? I'll go get you some breakfast."
