Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: With Thunder—Crush the Darkness!

Selvig wanted to pull Jack away, but was instead held back by him.

"Doctor, there's nothing to hide. This guy is the one who just fell from the light—he's the eldest princess of the God Realm, Asgard."

Before Jack could finish, he was interrupted by Daisy's exclamation,

"Princess? Him? Well… maybe. His pecs are bigger than my college roommate's."

Jack made a grasping motion in the air with one hand. Daisy immediately protected her chest, stepped back, and shut her mouth.

Jack continued,

"A spoiled eldest princess—the God of Hammers—banished to the mortal world by his royal father. That's the rough version. There are details in between, but for now, keep doing your research. I'll explain more tomorrow."

Selvig crouched down and resumed his work, half-believing. He had seen Jack's terrifying strength firsthand, so he knew Jack wouldn't talk nonsense—but the story itself was far too absurd to accept easily.

"Hey! Erik, you're about to step on the marks!"

Startled by Jane's scolding, Selvig realized he had stepped onto the scorched imprint and quickly jumped away.

Daisy and Jack stayed where they were. Seeing the doctor's solemn expression, as if he were seriously considering Jack's fairy tale, Daisy began to doubt herself.

"Is what you said actually true? The doctor seems to believe it."

She stared at Jack like she'd seen a ghost.

"Don't tell me this is real?"

Jack raised one finger in a wait here gesture and walked over to the unconscious Thor.

"Look."

Jack picked up a stone and crushed it in his palm. Crunch. The rock shattered.

Daisy covered her mouth in shock and stepped closer. She grabbed another stone and placed it into Jack's palm herself.

Jack squeezed. The stone crumbled into fragments.

"Step back," Jack said. "I'll prove right now that he's the God of Hammers. And get the taser ready."

Daisy retreated five meters, watching nervously.

Then she saw the proof.

Jack grabbed the so-called God of Hammers by the ankle, swung him with brutal force, and smashed him into the ground behind him. The earth caved in several centimeters.

Daisy froze, terrified that blood would splatter everywhere.

Daisy (づԾ﹏Ծど):

"I believe it now. Anyone who doesn't turn into minced meat after that has to be some kind of hammer spirit."

The noise drew Jane and Selvig's attention. They turned just in time to see Jack swing Thor again and slam him into the opposite side, denting the ground.

Jane: Σ(꒪mouth꒪ ‧̣̥̇)

"My poor husband…"

Selvig: (|||꒪ᗜ꒪)

"With that strength… he's definitely, absolutely dead."

Loki (´இdishஇ):

"Yes. That's it. That feeling. I love it."

Jack kept slamming Thor back and forth. After more than a dozen times, he tossed him aside and spat disdainfully.

"Weak god."

Jane and Selvig rushed over, staring at the two pits nearly thirty centimeters deep, silently praying the man was still alive.

"See? Perfectly fine," Jack said. "He's even awake."

Jack took the taser from Daisy's hand and aimed it at Thor, who was sitting upright.

Before Jane and Selvig could scold Jack, they followed his gaze—and indeed, the man was sitting up.

Selvig:

"Oh my God… is he really a god?"

Jane:

"He won't get angry and start killing people, right?"

Daisy:

"I think you smashed him stupid."

Jack said calmly,

"Go back to sleep."

Thor's head was still spinning, but he recognized that little device. He remembered being knocked out by it before and instinctively rolled aside.

"Bingo. Prediction successful."

The taser struck Thor square in the bladder.

The God of Hammers spasmed and collapsed, unconscious again.

Selvig winced when he saw where Thor was hit and subconsciously took a step back.

"You two keep researching," Jack said, clapping his hands. "We'll head back when you're almost done."

Ignoring Thor completely, Jack returned to the RV.

Jane and Selvig hesitated, worried about the puddle of iced red tea on the ground, but after confirming Thor was still breathing, they resumed their work.

Jack and Daisy climbed back into the vehicle. They glanced at each other, then both pulled out their phones.

Jack lay on the bed, his phone projecting images of the latest mobile tower-defense game he had developed.

Daisy looked at Jack's futuristic phone, then at her own outdated one. After thinking for a few minutes, she resolutely walked over to the bed.

Jack: (¬_¬)?

"What are you doing?"

Daisy licked her lips, clearly about to pounce and shout Do it!

Just as she lunged, Jack blocked her face with his palm.

"Wait. I've got something to do outside."

It was almost midnight. He couldn't miss his daily sign-in.

Jack exited the RV, walked up to Thor, grabbed him by the hair, and took a photo.

[Check-in successful. Obtained: Lightning Technique – Lightning Attraction]

Jack smirked.

"Not bad. Let's do it again."

At exactly midnight, Jack signed in again—this time stepping on Thor.

[Check-in successful. Obtained: Permission to use Mjolnir]

Jack's smirk turned into wild laughter as he shouted:

"Darkness shrouds all things!"

"I shall be the final dawn within the darkness!"

"With thunder—crush the darkness!"

Jane and Selvig looked up in shock. They didn't understand the words, but the overwhelming aura and conviction made them instinctively want to kneel.

Inside the RV, Daisy covered her face in pain.

"I chose this man? Not only is he traditionally horny, he's also terminally chunibyo…"

"But damn it, he's handsome. Is this the deluxe edition of a chunibyo?"

Her brain completely surrendered.

Jack extended his right hand at a 45-degree angle, waiting for Mjolnir.

One minute passed.

Two minutes.

Three minutes.

Jane and Selvig ignored him after the first minute and went back to work.

Daisy recorded the entire scene on camera, narrating nonstop:

"I'll use this for blackmail forever. Clapping on Monday, buying bags on Tuesday, Wednesday—"

Poor Daisy.

After showing Jack the video, she spent Monday through Wednesday clapping nonstop, with zero time to buy bags.

By the end, she was crying and begging for mercy like a spoiled brat.

Jack wanted to leave, but leaving felt awkward. And because it was awkward, he wanted to leave even more.

He felt set up and mentally noted to settle accounts with Black Egg later.

Jack jumped forward and landed directly in front of the RV door.

Daisy was startled by Jack suddenly appearing in frame. She hurriedly hid the camera and smiled guiltily.

Jack didn't think much of it. Daisy was just a confidante—for now.

This also wasn't the right place to know Daisy. Selvig and Jane were still using the RV.

Two hours later, Daisy fell asleep.

Jane and Selvig finished their research and returned.

Jane finally remembered Thor.

"Should we take him with us?"

Jack remembered the check-in tool-person and casually tossed Selvig a rope.

"Just tie him to the back of the car."

Selvig hesitated.

"Shouldn't we carry him inside?"

Jack leaned lazily in the driver's seat.

"If you want to carry him, go ahead."

Jane immediately agreed.

"It's fine, Erik. He'll be fine."

Selvig's remaining conscience vanished.

"You're right. He'll be fine."

He glanced at the human-shaped crater one last time.

The RV drove off toward Puente Antiguo.

Behind them, Thor repeatedly woke up from pain only to be knocked out again by flying rocks.

High above, Heimdall watched silently and closed his eyes in pain.

This was his future king.
