Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: The Hammer God Holding the Thunder God's hammer

Jack quickly stood up, wanting to pat the dust off himself. But when he saw that his clothes were riddled with holes, he felt there was no point, so he raised his hand and tore the garment off.

Thor also walked up at this time, carrying the arrogance of an Asgardian.

"Mortal, you have angered Thor, the God of Thunder. Prepare to face the wrath of the Thunder God."

The simple-minded Thor, having been easily provoked, had already forgotten the fear of being dominated by the True God of Thunder Stun Gun.

Jack didn't take out the stun gun either. He wanted to take this chance to give Thor a proper beating. What if Thor became unbeatable after his awakening?

Jack even took out the Ten Rings and wore them on his arms, then crooked his finger at Thor.

Thor, who had never been treated with such disrespect, charged straight at him.

Jack was baffled by Thor's stance. Not this, bro… is this really how you fight?

Jack sidestepped Thor's straight punch, crouched slightly, and landed a punch squarely on Thor's abdomen.

Thor's body stalled for a moment, then he reached out to grab Jack's arm to restrict his movement.

In that instant, Jack noticed Thor was full of openings—but his eyes were drawn to the biggest one.

His arm twisted upward from below. Just as it was about to strike, Thor seemed to sense danger and jumped back, narrowly dodging Jack's fatal ball-strike—one that even Ultraman would have to avoid.

Feeling the wind from Jack's palm, Thor swallowed hard, lingering fear helping him regain a bit of sanity.

His attacks were no longer a mess of wild punches but became more disciplined, with proper advances and retreats.

Seeing this, Jack also stopped underestimating his opponent. He waited patiently for a mistake, ready to use his secret technique at any moment.

After a minute of exchanging blows, Thor heard the roar of a vehicle behind him. His heart tightened, and he exposed a brief opening.

Jack instantly lunged forward into a bow stance, seizing this perfect opportunity.

Jack passionately shouted the name of the move in his heart—Kun Mountain Lean.

Kun Mountain Lean: Inspired by basketball fakes. It relies on extreme core strength, performing rapid crossover feints to lure the opponent into revealing an opening. In actual combat, it becomes a high-speed, multi-hit charge, producing the combined effect of multiple Iron Mountain Leans.

There is also a variant of Kun Mountain Lean. It uses quick feints to bait the opponent into jumping, followed by an instant crouch and a finger strike to the balls.

Commonly known as the Finger-Flick Ball Strike.

(The explanation might be a bit cringe, but as long as everyone understands. Also, protect your "good brothers" when playing basketball. T.T)

In that instant, Thor took five Kun Mountain Leans from Jack. The five forces merged into one, sending Thor flying dozens of meters. He bounced three times on the ground before crashing into the approaching RV, causing it to tilt sideways.

Erik Selvig patted his racing heart in lingering fear. Luckily, he reacted quickly and swerved left, so Thor only slammed into the side of the RV instead of crashing straight through the window.

Seeing this, Jack rushed to the RV. After confirming that the three inside were unharmed, he finally relaxed. He crouched down and pulled Thor out from under the vehicle.

Jack really wanted to reconstruct the scene to figure out how Thor had ended up under the car.

By all logic, Thor should have landed on the roof, not beneath it. Since he couldn't figure it out, he stopped thinking about it. Pulling Thor out from underneath also saved him some effort.

Looking speechlessly at the unconscious Thor—knocked out yet again—Jack first went into the car to check on Daisy Johnson.

"Is everyone uninjured?" Jack asked, scanning the interior and finding no bloodstains.

"Boss, did you throw him over here?" Selvig said. "If I hadn't reacted quickly, he would've smashed straight through the windshield."

Selvig was still marveling at his sharp eyesight, having spotted the human "hammer" flying in from afar.

Selvig walked over and poked Thor's firm butt. "He's really tough. Still alive after flying that far."

Jane Foster irritably slapped Selvig's foot away and carefully examined Thor.

"Shh—" Jack hushed them, signaling the two to keep quiet.

Seeing Jane wanting to protest, Selvig pulled Jack aside.

"Boss, something's wrong with Jane. She… she…" Selvig struggled to find the words. "She looks exactly like how I look at Mrs. Lei Huo Jian—lusting after his body—she…"

Jack put an arm around Selvig and finished for him. "You want to say she's lusting after his body and acting cheap, right? Doctor, that's prejudice. This is called love at first sight driven by lust."

Selvig froze. After a moment, he asked, "Is there really a difference?"

At that moment, Daisy's voice came from the other side. "Of course there's a difference. One is a one-night stand. The other is love for a lifetime."

Selvig's middle-aged worldview couldn't comprehend young people anymore. He walked back into the RV alone, glaring fiercely at Thor as he passed, then went inside to bury himself in research.

After Jack and Daisy exchanged a few minutes of sweet talk, Daisy went to fetch Jack a bottle of water.

Jack poured the water over Thor's face. Thor woke with a start and wiped his face, smearing dust everywhere.

Seeing this, Jane released Thor in disgust and let Jack take over the conversation.

"So you're Thor, the God of Thunder? Not that impressive. You couldn't even withstand one of my Kun Mountain Leans."

Now conscious, Thor realized he had been knocked out by this young Midgardian. Though his actions became more restrained, his mouth remained stubborn.

"Midgardian, if my hammer were here, I would knock all your teeth out."

Thor didn't know that his beloved hammer had already abandoned him. Jack was fully prepared for a face-to-face NTR—making Mrs. Hammer take the shape of his palm.

"I think you're just a Hammer God."

Thor exploded in anger. "You've gone too far, Midgardian!"

"How about I take you to find your hammer?"

Faced with Thor's bared teeth, Jack didn't get angry. Instead, he calmly made the offer.

"Ignorant Midgardian. My hammer is not one of your primitive tools. It is—" Thor began arrogantly, but Jack cut him off.

"Forged from the heart of a dying star, with a handle from the branches of the World Tree. Right?"

Thor's eyes lit up, as if he had met a kindred spirit.

"No wonder his whole family's gone…" Jack thought. Camping bridges must run in the bloodline.

"Hey, you really know your stuff!" Thor said happily. "Are you truly a Midgardian native? Then take me to my hammer!"

Jack found it quite entertaining to coax a fool. "Of course. I know the approximate location. Get in the car."

Because he was about to reunite with his beloved hammer, Thor happily climbed into the car, completely forgetting about being tasered earlier.

Jane was driving, so Thor naturally sat in the passenger seat. Jack was more than happy to see it.

"Drive west. You should see it in about forty miles."

Jack wasn't worried at all. With the two protagonists present, how could they fail to find Mjolnir?

Daisy and Selvig stopped whispering and walked over.

"What were you two talking about? Why did you stop when I came over?" Jack asked curiously.

Daisy pulled Jack aside and pointed at Thor and Jane, who were chatting and laughing like idiots. She frowned deeply.

"Boss, are you sure that guy is the God of Thunder? Not the Hammer God?"

Jack blinked. "Why would you think that?"

Selvig added, "After you described Mjolnir earlier, his reaction was like… like you were praising him."

Jack nodded helplessly. "That's true. But he really is the God of Thunder—he just can't use lightning without the hammer."

Daisy said seriously, "I think the hammer is the God of Thunder, and he's just the Hammer God holding it."

Jack spread his hands. "Honestly? I think so too."

…The road across the Gobi Desert was rough, and they only reached the crash site in the evening.

S.H.I.E.L.D. agents had already sealed off the pit. Only white plastic tarps were visible.

Jack kicked aside some leftover barbecue skewers and ordered fresh beef and lamb skewers from California on his phone. He had planned to return for dinner but had been eating bread all day due to nonstop chaos.

He had JARVIS pick up the order. It would arrive in thirty minutes—though he wasn't sure if supersonic flight would ruin the taste.

Seeing the pictures, Thor said shamelessly, "Friend, I have a large appetite. Order more."

Jack sneered inwardly. If you can still eat later, I'll eat Mjolnir myself.

Jack had Jane drive straight to the entrance of the S.H.I.E.L.D. camp. He and Thor got out, then Jack asked Selvig, "Doctor, I asked for a bulletproof car, right?"

"Yes," Selvig replied. "Otherwise, it would've deformed when that kid hit it." Then he hesitated. "Boss… you're not planning to go to war with them, are you?"

Jack replied casually, "Of course not. But if a conflict breaks out, a non-bulletproof car wouldn't survive."

Selvig floored the gas and turned sharply. "We're heading back first. Waiting for your good news."

Daisy waved from the window. "Boss, I'll wait for you. If you end up in prison, I'll visit you—only if you still have assets."

"Erik, I want to get out too," Jane said, seizing the chance and jumping down.

Daisy stopped Selvig. "Doctor, let's go back. With the Hammer God here, Jane will be fine."

Selvig thought about it and drove off.

Jack took out his phone and called Nick Fury. After a few seconds, the call connected.

"Is our Agent baby in trouble? To think you'd actually call me."

Jack said, "Call Agent Sitwell. I'm here to teach you the correct way to use Mjolnir."

Nick Fury stared at the disconnected phone, unfazed. "Mjolnir… Thor…"

"Sitwell, there's a man named Jack outside. Take him in to see the hammer. If there's no abnormality—and if he doesn't attack—don't act rashly."

"Yes, Director," Sitwell replied, thoroughly dissatisfied.

After calming himself with the promise of reimbursed 'equipment losses,' Sitwell headed for the gate.

Jack was lying outside the temporary camp, waiting.

Thor urged impatiently, "I told you we should fight our way in. Connections are for weaklings."

Jack rolled his eyes. "I'm tired. Besides, their weapons hit harder than that little taser."

Jack checked the time. Three minutes had passed.

"Two more minutes. If they don't come out, we charge in."

Thor grew excited, clenching his fists as he counted down on Jane's watch.

"110, 111, 112—"

"Jack?" Sitwell asked.

Jack opened his sleepy eyes and squinted at the reflective bald head.

"Turn off the light. You're blinding me."

Sitwell awkwardly shifted aside. "Mr. Jack, please come with me. I'll take you to see the hammer."

Thor scowled but instantly forgot his anger at the mention of Mjolnir.

"Quick! I've missed my hammer to death!"

Sitwell stopped him and adjusted his glasses. The surrounding guards raised their guns.

"Sorry, sir. The Director only authorized Mr. Jack."

Thor growled. "Midgardian, I've endured enough. You attacked me and now block me from my hammer. I'm going in."

Jack struck Thor lightly in the abdomen, stopping him cold. Thor doubled over in pain, crouching on the ground.
