She gathered her courage, sat up, picked up the bowl, and drank the brown sugar water in one go. Warmth spread quickly through her body, as if her drained strength had been poured back in all at once.
Rose immediately climbed out of bed and stood up. Her head was no longer dizzy, and her legs felt steady again. She said excitedly, "Sister-in-law! I'm completely fine now. I can take care of Ethan again!"
Mary nodded with a faint smile. She had quietly added a drop of spiritual spring water to the sugar water, just enough to help Rose recover faster.
Rose hurried to Ethan's bedside. She lifted the towel from his forehead, dipped it back into the basin, wrung it dry, and gently wiped his face with careful, tender movements.
Seeing this, John stood up on his own initiative and moved to sit beside Luke. He let out a sigh filled with emotion. "Ethan really found himself a good wife."
