The room felt too small the moment they stepped inside.
Rowan didn't even have time to breathe before the air shifted, heavy and crushing, like an invisible weight pressing down on his chest. Two powerful scents flooded the house at once, sharp, dominant, unmistakably an Alpha.
His heart slammed violently against his ribs.

They weren't supposed to be here yet.
Nyphrin's voice echoed in his head, smug and amused.

Rowan's stomach dropped.
You said I had time, he snapped back internally. At least a day.
