1973 — the Siberian Base, the birthplace of mutant evolution.
A surging mass of crimson mist poured out of the void, and under Lancelot's lead, the mutants returned here.
"I've finally returned to the main universe," Lancelot murmured, looking at the familiar homeland of mutant evolution before him.
The Mutant Evolution House was a mutant base he had established in 1962.
After eleven years of development, it had already taken the shape of a cutting-edge modern technological base.
Advanced equipment far beyond the current era could be seen everywhere. Countless forms of biotechnology had already been applied across the world.
In the residential zones of the base, crystal-clear floating eyeballs were suspended in the air. These eyeballs broadcast real-time news from all over the globe. Three-dimensional projections streamed out of them, making the surroundings feel like a true sci-fi world.
Aside from these eyeballs, a biological skeletal system known as "Angel Wings" was also widely used. Many mutants had a pair of massive white wings growing from their backs, freely soaring through the sky.
Biological enhancement serum had become a daily necessity. Whether human or mutant, anyone with a weak body could inject it, instantly increasing physical attributes by 117 times, reaching the absolute limits of human potential.
Directed Evolution Devices were also installed throughout the living areas. Humans and mutants seeking stimulation could customize unique organs for themselves — blue skin, crimson eyes, animal claws, flame-patterned tattoos, and more were common sights.
Thanks to directed evolution technology, even ordinary humans could obtain mutant abilities, adjust their bodies, and precisely modify organs down to structure, scale, and depth. This had already become normal.
All these forms of biological black technology allowed the Mutant Evolution House to stand hundreds of years ahead of Earth.
"So it's already developed to this extent?"
A smile appeared on Lancelot's face.
The Mutant Evolution House had completely shattered the shackles of biological evolution. Under the leadership of mutants, humanity was charging toward a higher-dimensional evolutionary storm.
Mind, space, body, abilities, and evolution itself — development was advancing on all fronts.
"My Majesty, we have opened the gates to the glory of biological evolution," said Emma Frost, the White Queen, smiling proudly at Lancelot's side.
"Well done, my mutant brethren," Lancelot said as he led Emma Frost and the others from the edge of the base to his throne and sat down calmly.
A pair of crimson eyes symbolizing reincarnation looked down upon the mutants before him.
"Heavenly Sound of All Things."
Lancelot raised his right hand lightly. A gentle gravitational force enveloped Emma Frost and pulled her into his arms.
"Human World — Memory Extraction."
After reincarnation, Lancelot's eyes shimmered. His right hand touched Emma Frost's forehead. In that instant, he saw everything that had happened in the main universe during the three years of his absence.
1970 — Howard Stark's son, Tony Stark, was born.
That same year, future superheroes returned to their New Jersey base in search of Pym Particles and the Tesseract.
However, because Lancelot had already controlled Hank Pym and sent him to the Mutant Evolution House, the future Captain America and Iron Man failed to return successfully.
Without Pym Particles, they were forced to remain in this era and begin recreating the particles from scratch using Pym's notes.
Even with Tony Stark's genius intellect, it still took them a full year to succeed, allowing them to return to the future in 1971.
1971 — the future superhero Hawkeye, Clint Barton, was born.
That same year, the Mutant Evolution House developed a brainwave amplification device suited for Bradley. His will spread across the globe, secretly monitoring the entire world.
1972 — HYDRA leader Dr. Arnim Zola was diagnosed with cancer. After failing to obtain anti-cancer serum from Evolution Glory Biopharmaceuticals, Zola carried out a mad consciousness experiment. Upon his death, he successfully uploaded his consciousness into an old computer.
1973 — the Strategic Scientific Reserve launched Project PEGASUS. Howard Stark, serving as a scientific consultant, discovered a special new element while researching the Cosmic Cube.
Unfortunately, with 1970s technology, Howard could not synthesize it. He concealed it and left it behind as a gift for the future Tony Stark.
"Three years have passed, yet the world hasn't changed much," Lancelot said as he withdrew his hand from Emma Frost's forehead, recording every development he had seen.
"Earth's pace of progress is too slow. It's beginning to restrict the growth of our mutant homeland."
Aside from Wakanda, whose advancement relied on vibranium, Earth's technological progress had already entered a bottleneck. This stagnation would continue until the 1990s, when another major technological explosion would occur.
"Darwin," Lancelot said, looking down.
"From this moment on, suspend all adaptive evolution research. Focus entirely on adapting to the extreme conditions of outer space."
"Yes, my King." Darwin knelt on one knee in respect.
"Azazel, bring me a human corpse."
"Yes, my King."
Crimson mist surged from Azazel's body. When it dispersed, he reappeared before Lancelot, carrying the corpse of a young white man.
"Eye of Samsara."
Lancelot opened the Rinnegan. Raising his right hand, he pierced the corpse one rod after another with black chakra receivers.
Whoosh.
As the black rods entered, the corpse's closed eyes snapped open. Within them, the Rinnegan rippled like water.
Lancelot manipulated the body to stand, granting it the power of the Six Paths — the Deva Path.
"Is… is this Your Majesty?" Emma Frost asked in astonishment.
"This is my Path of Heaven," Lancelot said calmly.
"I call it Pain."
He closed his eyes. Through the black rods embedded in Deva Path Pain, Lancelot transferred his consciousness completely.
Crack—crack—
The body moved. Though pierced with black rods, the Six-Paths puppet was unbelievably agile — far more flexible than a living human.
"Azazel," Lancelot commanded, now speaking through Pain.
"Send my Path of Heaven into extraterrestrial orbit."
"I intend to build a space homeland for mutants."
