Chapter 6 - Warper

Imagine a normal world without any Reality Warpers. In this world, things are orderly, knowable, and objective. The laws people are familiar with operate within their applicable scope and do not change due to a single thought from an anomaly.

If the commonalities of all these things are extracted, they form the meaning of reality, or even the only meaning of reality – objective existence.

To measure the magnitude of an object's objective existence, researchers at the SCP Foundation created a physical quantity: Reality Intensity.

The unique talent possessed by Reality Warpers is their ability to control the Reality Intensity field generated by their own matter.

Furthermore, their body's Reality Intensity is often higher than the baseline reality, while the surrounding environment's Reality Intensity is often lower than the baseline reality. The greater the difference between the two, the stronger the Reality Warper's abilities.

And what Adam is about to do now is directly transfer a portion of his Reality Intensity to Lucia, transforming her into a brand new Reality Warper!

One minute later.

"That should be enough..."

Adam estimated the Reality Intensity on Lucia and, finding that it had successfully reached the level of a Tier 1 Reality Warper, immediately stopped the transfer.

A Reality Warper's will can influence reality, even the weakest Tier 1 is no exception. For someone like Lucia, whose will is strong enough to endure so long during a Living Saint's ascension, this level of assistance is completely sufficient.

Unfortunately, in order to transform Lucia into a reality warper, all the growth progress Adam gained from killing the Chaos Space Marines earlier had been consumed. If he wanted to advance further, he would have to start over.

Adam, however, was completely unconcerned. This amount of souls might be difficult to obtain in The SCP Foundation world, but for Warhammer, it was nothing. He could make up for it by simply finding a rebellious Hive City world.

In comparison, having a Living Saint guard with abilities like healing, resurrection, and inspiration was the most important thing for Adam, whose main body was currently very fragile.

The golden flames gradually dissipated, and silver-white skeletons turned to dust one after another. Lucia, who had been kneeling on the ground, finally opened her eyes.

As if by a miracle, Lucia's originally charred skin peeled away, revealing an intact body beneath. Luminous white long hair grew rapidly, and a faint golden halo appeared above her head.

A pair of pure white wings suddenly unfurled from her back. With a spread of her wings, Lucia flew towards the dome, hovering in the air.

Adam looked up and met her golden glowing eyes.

Honestly, one has to admit that Old Man Huang's aesthetic sense is indeed strong.

Lucia slowly descended and stopped in front of Adam, kneeling on one knee, her voice calm and powerful:

"Lord Adam, by the will of the God-Emperor, I shall be the sword in your hand, vowing to protect your safety in this dark galaxy with my life."

"You said, the will of the God-Emperor?"

Adam was a little surprised.

"What did that old... that old man, the Emperor, tell you?"

"He told me to do my utmost to protect your safety, because you are His Contractor, the Star of Hope in the Long Night, the Savior of Humanity, a Unique Treasure, the Only Hope..."

Lucia, with a serious expression, had not finished speaking when she saw Adam waving his hands repeatedly, interrupting her.

"...That's enough, no need to continue."

Unbelievable!

Why didn't you show such emotional intelligence during the Great Crusade ten thousand years ago?

However, thinking about it, it's normal to have such a reaction after sitting on the galaxy's foremost torture device for ten thousand years and finally seeing a chance to get off work.

"Did he say anything about the next arrangements?"

Adam asked curiously.

Clearly, the Emperor's current state was infinitely better than his original schizophrenic ramblings, even capable of giving relatively clear instructions.

"No, His meaning is that you can decide your next actions yourself, as long as they are within the scope of the contract."

Lucia shook her head.

"However, one other thing, I can sense that there are still two loyal survivors on the Bridge right now. If we rush over and save them in time, it should be helpful for your next actions."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"

Adam immediately made a decision.

It goes without saying that survivors who could withstand the attacks of Chaos Space Marines could not possibly be ordinary people...

**********

At this moment, on the Bridge.

A fierce battle was raging.

"Bang bang bang bang bang!"

This was the sound of bolters unleashing their fury upon the enemies of humanity.

"Boom boom boom!"

That was the sound of traitors throwing grenades in retaliation.

"Crackling..."

Finally, all the gunshots and explosions ended with streaks of psychic lightning, cutting through the air like countless silver serpents.

The Chaos Space Marines retreated, though only temporarily, but it still gave the two remaining loyalists on the Bridge a rare moment to catch their breath.

The dazzling blue psychic glow in Sibylla's eyes slowly faded. She took a deep breath, recovering from the mental strain caused by continuous use of her psychic abilities.

A dark bolter muzzle extended from beside her and pressed against her forehead.

"How is it? Can you still hold on?"

Sibylla showed no reaction to this, nor any anger, merely stating calmly:

"...No need. My fated death is not yet upon me. The Emperor still needs me to fulfill my duties."

She fully understood the reaction of her temporary companion.

Psykers have always occupied a very subtle position within the Imperium. Almost all Imperial departments, including the Astronomican, Inquisition, Imperial Navy, Astra Militarum, and Astartes Chapters, have Psykers among their ranks.

However, because Psykers are directly connected to the Warp, most of them suffer from some degree of mental illness, more or less. Even more terrifying, the Warp projection of every Psyker is like a shining lighthouse in the eyes of Warp Daemons, highly likely to become a gateway for daemon incursions into reality, potentially causing immense destruction if not careful.

Based on Sibylla's performance just now, using psychic powers to forcefully repel the charge of over a dozen Chaos Astartes, if she were to suffer a mental collapse and become a Warp rift, it might be enough for some Greater Daemons to manifest in reality!

She turned her head to look at her temporary companion.

It was a man over three meters tall, clad entirely in black robes. Even after just enduring a fierce battle, single-handedly killing over a dozen Chaos Astartes and slaying a Chaos Captain, his breathing remained steady and unhurried.
