Chapter 4 - Conclusion

What the hell is that thing?

This thought appeared in the Chaos Sorcerer's mind.

As a Chaos Sorcerer who had accumulated over a hundred years of experience on the path of the Warp, he originally believed he always possessed excellent discernment, unlike those ignorant running dogs of the corpse emperor who casually attributed common phenomena to divine power.

But now, he wasn't so sure anymore.

He had nearly strained his eyes until they bled, yet he still couldn't figure out how this "thing" that looked like a mortal managed to interfere with the Warp Rift.

Moreover, he didn't detect any fluctuations from the Immaterium throughout the process. Whether the opponent was a Psyker, or even a human, was hard to say!

"Makras! Stop spacing out! Hurry up and think of something!"

The roar of his Warband brother, transmitted through the Sound Array installed in his helmet, reached the Chaos Sorcerer's ears, interrupting his thoughts.

Boom!

The sound of a melta bomb exploding came, followed by a blinding, incandescent flash.

Under the enhancement of Adam's Reality Warping Ability, the melta bomb, already powerful enough to destroy heavy vehicles, increased its potency, comparable to a small sun rising indoors, turning two Chaos Astartes and their cover into gas, reducing them to nothing.

Perhaps unable to accept such a humiliating death, the Chaos Astartes behind the next cover peeked out before Adam targeted them, attempting to open fire and counterattack.

Their fate was naturally no better; they were instantly reduced to free-floating molecules in the air by Plasma Blasts and Melta Beams.

The Chaos Sorcerer took a deep breath.

He definitely couldn't continue like this.

Since he was certain that his psychic power was insufficient to protect himself against this level of gunfire, the Chaos Sorcerer was forced to take an action he normally despised and would never consider under ordinary circumstances.

He reached into the Dose Box at his waist and forcefully injected the Stimm derived from certain Slaanesh rituals into his body.

"Hoooh-oh-oh-oh-oh!"

A variety of intense stimuli rushed into the Chaos Sorcerer's brain, causing his body to tremble uncontrollably like a sieve, and his previously calm psychic energy surged violently!

Praise the lord of pleasure! Praise the Immaterium! Praise this heavenly ecstasy!

Ecstatically activating a spell, a hardened Psychic Shield protected his entire body. The burst of overflowing psychic energy even completely tore apart his cover, but he no longer cared.

The Chaos Sorcerer, bathed in the hail of bullets, aimed at the target and unleashed a furious psychic spell. A pink gale swept forth, instantly tearing apart Adam, who seemed unable to react... or did it?

The Chaos Sorcerer widened his eyes, watching Adam's torn body slowly dissipate into the air.

Holographic Projection?

When?

At this moment, his mind, scrambled by the rush of pleasure, finally realized that the Sound Array communication had fallen silent sometime ago.

Following his instinct, the Chaos Sorcerer slowly turned around and saw the enemy standing not far behind him, waving.

The furious psychic energy instantly broke free from the Chaos Sorcerer's control like a wild horse, and brilliant pink Psychic Flames erupted, incinerating his entire body into ash.

"It's over."

Adam retracted his hand and stroked his chin.

Weapons in a state of Machine Spirit delight required no control and automatically poured out firepower, thus giving Adam the opportunity to secretly flank the enemy and pick off those hiding behind cover one by one.

As for why it was so troublesome... A Level 2 Reality Warper has limits in both the range of influence and energy level, and Adam's current Hume Level does not support reckless expenditure.

In the SCP Foundation's system, a Level 2 Reality Warper is merely rated as having "overwhelming advantage when fighting normal humans."

They cannot create physical phenomena like Miniature Black Holes, as a Level 3 Reality Warper can, nor can they trample the laws of reality, widely and arbitrarily create life, souls, or anomalous items, like a Level 4.

If possible, Adam certainly wished he didn't have to take such a roundabout approach, but could instantly annihilate all enemies with a wave of his hand.

Unfortunately, he couldn't annihilate them.

'I hope that once my Reality Warping Ability improves, I can escape this awkward situation.'

But he figured it should be soon; after this battle, having killed over twenty Chaos Astartes, the Soul Collection progress bar was mostly full.

He thought it wouldn't be long before he broke through to a realm he had never experienced.

This was much better than the SCP world. It seemed the Warhammer Universe wasn't as bad as he imagined; it had many redeeming qualities.

Such as countless heretic or alien souls.

As Adam silently mused, he walked over to the Canoness lying on the ground, whose name he still didn't know.

He slowly extended his hand and activated his ability.

Just like kneading clay, the Canoness' missing limbs regrew, damaged internal organs were repaired, vitality was replenished, and bones were reshaped... Soon, a few minutes passed, and Lucia, who had just been unconscious, regained consciousness, opened her eyes, stood up, and looked around.

The previously arrogant Chaos Astartes had now become corpses lying on the ground.

She briefly checked her body; she was completely restored, as if she had never been injured.

Lucia focused her gaze on the young man before her.

To Adam's surprise, Lucia, as a Canoness, straightened up and voluntarily performed a standard aquila salute toward him, a person of unknown origin.

"I am Lucia Petrovich, Canoness of the Order of the Martyr Saintess. Thank you for extending your helping hand, assisting the Order in cleansing this disgrace and annihilating these blasphemous heretics."

Such a good attitude?

Adam was slightly stunned, clearly taken aback.

Logically, the attitude of the various Battle Sisters who follow the Ecclesiarchy towards all Illegal Psykers who practice sorcery could hardly be called amiable; "kill on sight" would be more accurate.

After all, there is no such anomalous entity as a Reality Warper in Warhammer. Even if Lucia didn't witness the combat due to her unconsciousness, given the state of the Chaos Astartes executed by Adam's ability, coupled with his suspicious appearance, a misunderstanding would be the normal reaction.

Of course, for Lucia, being a Battle Sister, she had her own interpretation.

The dazzling golden light emanating from the young man in her pre-coma vision, her body being perfectly intact upon waking, her damaged Power Armor also being fully repaired, and the Holy Relic Cross Pendant on her chest emitting a warmth that seemed to soak into her soul... there could be no other explanation.

This must be the Emperor's Divine Power!

The Emperor's Saint!

To be honest, the fact that she hadn't immediately knelt down and started praying was already a result of her strong sense of duty and forced restraint.
