Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 Bow and Arrow

With York' support, their speed increased, and it didn't take long for them to all take their seats.

However, there was one problem: Carly's right foot was bleeding quite a lot, and her pants were completely soaked with blood.

York glanced at Carly, who was sitting in the back seat, with her sharp features, delicate and aloof face.

Her face was pale, like a Vampire that only walked in the dark, and her eyes seemed clearly unfocused.

This was a sign of excessive blood loss, which was very dangerous. He didn't know how long these two had been running, as they hadn't even had time to treat their wounds.

"This won't do! We must treat her injuries first, or she will bleed to death!" York said to Jessie, who seemed to still be in shock.

"Your friend's situation is very dangerous..."

At these words, Jessie, also sitting in the back seat, clearly began to panic.

"Then what should we do! What should we do..."

Looking at Jessie, who was like a scared kitten, completely at a loss, York sighed inwardly, knowing he had to see this through.

He couldn't expect a girl who had been greatly frightened to maintain rational thought and calmness. It was already impressive that the two of them had managed to escape this far.

Anyway, they had money! He wouldn't suffer a loss. Recalling what Carly had said earlier, York reached into the glove compartment on the passenger side and pulled out a small first-aid kit.

"Treat the wound first!"

With that, while Jessie was still panicking, York leaned his upper body into the back seat and directly tore open Carly's right pant leg.

Rip!!!!

As the sticky pant leg was torn open, the wound revealed beneath made York frown slightly. He glanced at Carly, who was semi-conscious.

"I really don't know how you two managed to endure this..."

Jessie also saw the injury on her best friend's right foot, covering her mouth tightly, her eyes teary.

"OMG!!!!"

Looking at the bloody and mangled wound, York' movements were not delayed. He began to stop the bleeding. In his previous life, he was a medical graduate student, so treating such a minor injury was naturally not worth mentioning.

According to his guess, Carly's injury was probably from stepping on some kind of animal trap. It was lucky that her bones weren't injured; if they had been, she wouldn't have been able to keep her foot, as injuring the bone would mean it was directly snapped.

As for it not being snapped, York quickly treated it while glancing at Carly's left shoe. The shoes on her left and right feet were of different heights. It was indeed due to the boots; the quality was really good.

After York finished disinfecting, he started bandaging and looked at Jessie, who was beginning to calm down, asking,

"How did you two escape? Can you tell me?"

Considering all the current circumstances, truthfully, if no one had helped, these two girls really hadn't shown the ability to escape.

Hearing this, Jessie, now calmer, instinctively recoiled, her voice still trembling, seemingly still immersed in what had happened earlier.

"Chris, Chris, he led those beasts away, and Carly and I ran all the way..."

As expected.

York didn't want to press any further. While he hadn't finished, he pulled out his phone from his pocket with his left hand and handed it to Jessie, continuing,

"Call the police!"

Ultimately, matters unrelated to him were best handled by the police.

Jessie instinctively took it and quickly called the police.

York also reached the final step, tying a knot that was easy to untie.

At this point, the wound treatment was roughly done, but they still needed to go to the hospital promptly for final treatment.

York sat back down, preparing to start the car and leave.

However, before he could even step on the brake and shift gears, Jessie in the back seat cried out first.

"No signal!!"

"It's okay, let's just leave first."

York said, just about to shift gears, when a sudden change occurred. A swift gust of wind sounded in his ear. He seemed to sense something and suddenly looked behind him.

"Watch out!"

Just then.

Bang!!!!! An arrow pierced through the car window, made of special glass, heading straight for the stunned Jessie.

But fortunately, the force of the arrow was also completely offset by piercing the car window, stopping right next to Jessie's temple, trembling continuously.

Jessie was completely dumbfounded, not knowing what to do, just sitting there blankly.

Looking at the arrow, glinting coldly, stuck in the car window, York' expression darkened. He quickly reached out and pressed Jessie's head down, bringing Carly down to the seat bottom as well.

This man-eating demons is so fast, he caught up so quickly... "Get down, don't move! You watch your friend!" After saying that, York ignored Jessie's response, quickly shifted gears, and prepared to step on the accelerator to leave.

This man-eating demons was somewhat beyond his expectation. His strength was surprisingly great; he could pierce his special glass with just a bow and arrow. One should know that although the quality of this glass was not as good as bulletproof glass, it wasn't far off.

However, before York could step on the accelerator, another swift gust of wind sounded in his ear.

Bang!!!!!

This time, the car window was fine, but a sound of air bursting was heard.

Hearing a 'thump,' York grimaced. Well, the tire was shot. Now no one could leave.

Another gust of wind sounded. York' expression remained unchanged. He silently grabbed the small bag from the passenger seat and hung it around his neck.

Just as he had predicted, the archer, no, the man-eating demons, had no intention of letting them go.

With a 'thump,' another tire deflated.

York ducked low and glanced back at Jessie and Carly.

They were trembling.

Seeing this situation, York didn't expect any help from them. He could only reach back with one hand and grab the backpack at Jessie's feet, pulling it over.

Whoosh!!

York unzipped the backpack, tossed a box of slugs into the small bag, and said,

"Tell me, how many of these man-eating demonss are there, roughly?"

Hearing this, Jessie looked at the priest who was searching for something, and with a trembling voice, she tried to recall.

"At first, I saw two. They killed all my friends, only Carly, Chris, and I ran out..."

"Two..." Looking at the arrow piercing the glass, York felt it was still a bit risky and took out another box of slugs from the backpack, putting them into the small bag.

During this time, Jessie hadn't stopped talking. She continued,

"When we escaped, I saw two more people I hadn't seen before..."

"So that's a total of four, or possibly even more..." York thought silently, picked up the Winchester M1897 next to him, quietly unloaded the salt rounds inside, and slowly replaced them with slugs.

Click, and a special slug was loaded.

As mentioned earlier, slugs are bullets specifically designed for large creatures, meaning they have greater lethality than buckshot.
