Demons are rare creatures. They don't communicate, don't reproduce, don't get together with other creatures and even with each other, have destructive tendency, are the creature of Mother, breaks the order of the world and desire end of perfection.
Demons aren't hated for nothing.
That hatred mostly stems from the Mother. Mortal creatures hate her for creating devil spawns and demons. But creatures like Gods hate her cause she is a creator but not a Destroyer.
A reason why devil spawns were never erased because she couldn't do it. Or maybe she could. Mother of demons is a mystery.
But all that doesn't really bother Ghost.
Ghost actually couldn't be anymore excited to see a living demon. He isn't a battle crazy person. He is just ordinarily crazy.
The demon that they had encountered in the Boneyard was a creature a bones from the very world itself and some bones from the devil spawns. All bones are equally precious in the eyes of this demon.
The demon itself looked like a walking amalgamation of skeletons. Nor it is a creature or a thing. It is just a demon that is doing what it liking. Collecting bones? Or maybe destroying the world. it is hard to tell..
Ghost already wanted this dead dungeon for himself. So he isn't gonna let a tiny predicament step on his ambitions.
In the end, he got boneyard after that dreadful battle. It took more than a mouth to defeat it. He won the boneyard but couldn't kill the clever demon. A fragment of the demon ran away.
That demon looked like a mindless creature but that was just a disguise to trick others.
Now what really happened in that confrontation? It is a little anticlimactic to just leave it there.
How did they fought a bone creature of such size? That isn't really known or made public. Even government themselves doesn't know much about it.
But demon's abilities are made known. Knowledge about demon's abilities and nature worth more than gold. Creatures like elves and dragons would pay worlds for that knowledge.
It is also taboo to hide information about demons. Those who do are declared traitors of the world or a spawn of Mother. That is a law accepted by all creatures of the world.
So Ghost had to share the demon's abilities to the world. As even he doesn't wanna make an enemy of the world. He isn't that crazy.
One of the ability of the demon involved bone manipulation. it can take control of the bone of the dead creatures but it could also take control of the bones of the living things.
It never really desired to take control of the bodies of his cohort though. It always desired to take bones away instead. Perhaps, the demon isn't as clever at they thought or it has its own values that it followed.
That just sounds weird. Demons having values? Just strange. But that strangeness never went away.
Other abilities involved, bone growth from any material. It was like a disease that its presence gave out.
Iris's reinforcement made it possible to resist it.
Next comes the world that it affected. The bones themselves affected differently in the presence of the creature. They were attracted to the demon. It gave life to the bone but bones were just a result of the demon.
Cohort had many more troubling encounters with the demon. Each day, it presented a new challenge that they had to clear.
However, the demon wasn't an ancient demon. It was actually an offspring of the dungeon. How? And how is it known?
Well, that info is given by Ghost. He even knows the demon name of the creature. He called it, the BoneQueen.
Ghost himself never explained how and why does he know it.
And that's the history of how Boneyard, the human community that is under the Soulheart family was discovered.
Steel had read these reports when he was sneaking around the government facility. He was kind of disappointed that he didn't get anything more mind blowing truth about the Boneyard or the Ghost Soulheart.
That human is terrifying.
It is fair to say that government doesn't have much control over this human community. To be fair, government isn't strong against these terrifying humans at all.
Government might be huge. But When we are deal with people with the likes of Ghost Soulheart, it is a losing fight. He is a enemy even in the eyes of humans.
Steel knows that numbers are useless against a being that can kill hundreds of creature with a gaze. Humans are just the part of a small world. but there world is also very troubling.
He is also curious about that demon, BoneQueen.
Does that name implies that it is a she? Probably not. Soul names and demon names don't follow the proper meaning of the words. These words could mean different things. Like tyranny over bones or Who is made of bone or something else.
Steel has learned in his School days that Souls are not naming themselves. they are writing themselves in the world. The words or symbols can have a meaning but the meaning is meaningless if we try to apply the logic of normalcy. It is better to add the creature's soul in the name too.
The translation itself that is done through the Soul tablets are just the most basic form. So those description should be taken with the Grain of salt.
He wonder who even have made the Soul tablet? Probably, an Elf.
Steel sighs and get to correcting his reports that is in front of him. He is busy.
He doesn't remember when his mind wandered over to something that he had done so long ago. Is he still tired from the journey? That's probably is the case. Or Autor just wanted to exposition dump.
