Two days had passed, yet Panther hadn't moved.
The room felt unnaturally quiet. No wind. No distant noise. Just the fragile rise and fall of his chest, as if it could stop at any moment.
Eve sat beside the bed, her hands resting stiffly on her knees. She didn't dare touch him. Every time she tried, fear stopped her halfway.
What if he never woke up?
What if this was her fault?
I should have destroyed the core She thought
Time lost its meaning.
Then—
His fingers twitched.
Eve froze.
She leaned forward, barely breathing.
"Aunty" she whispered urgently, her voice trembling, "he moved."
Lucy was at the bedside in an instant.
Panther's eyelids fluttered. Slowly, painfully, his eyes opened.
Light burned his vision. Shapes blurred together. His chest tightened.
Tears slid down his cheeks without him realizing.
"Mom…" he whispered.
Lucy felt her heart clench.
"Something's wrong," Panther murmured weakly.
"Memories… they came back. But they're broken. Like pieces missing."
His fingers tightened around the sheet.
"Who am I?"
"…Am I human?"
His breath hitched.
"And my dad—what happened to him?"
Silence filled the room.
Eve turned away.
Lucy closed her eyes for a moment.
"…I'll tell you everything son"
She took a long breath.
"Long ago, when your father was still a general in the demon army, the Demon King was Biros."
Panther listened without blinking.
"He was one of the strongest demons ever born—proud, cruel, and arrogant. He believed even the gods could fall before him."He wanted to become the king of all three realms.
"So he declared war on the gods."
"It wasn't a war. It was a massacre. The lower gods fell one after another. Only when the upper gods descended did Biros finally fall."when the gods won, they cursed demonkind."
A chill ran down Panther's spine.
"Due to the curse Many demons lost their sanity. Violence consumed them. To suppress the curse, they were forced to eat the flesh of their own kind,The curse even spread to land. "
Eve's fists clenched.
"Our land rotted. Our people suffered. Biros was sealed… and demonkind was abandoned."
Lucy's gaze softened.
"Then your father rose."
"Vorath."
The name echoed in Panther's mind.
"He wasn't born a king. He earned it. He protected demonkind and united them."
"For the first time… there was hope."
"The cursed demons still existed," Lucy continued quietly. "But your father refused to kill them."
"He imprisoned them instead."
"Because he believed they were victims… not monsters."
"That was the most peaceful era demonkind ever knew."
Then her expression darkened.
"But peace never lasts."
"The son of Biros was born."
"…Ramsay."
"He was cursed from birth," Lucy said.
"Yet he broke that curse by tearing apart his own mother to be born."
Panther felt sick.
"He was chaos incarnate."
"The taste of flesh never left him."
"Some demons are born with innate abilities," Lucy continued.
"Ramsay's ability allowed him to turn spilled blood into weapons."
"After murdering one of the Five Generals, he took their place."
The silence that followed was suffocating.
To claim the throne, Ramsay declared war on your father."
"He released every imprisoned violent demon and gained the support of the dragons."
Eve's voice trembled.
"My kind made a terrible mistake."
"Ramsay and the Dragon King attacked Vorath together," Lucy said.
"When your father realized we couldn't survive, he opened a portal with the help of a general."
"He sent us to Earth."
Her voice cracked.
"He stayed behind and killed by them."
Ramsay didn't stop with demonkind. After a few years when he rose further in power, he turned his blade toward the dragons."
Eve's expression darkened.
"Demons and dragons were dragged into endless battles," Lucy said.
"Neither side was weaker. Their powers were equal. Every clash tore the realms apart."
Eve lowered her head.
"I wasn't a fighter. I didn't understand the war… only the fear."
Lucy nodded.
"When Ramsay's ambition grew, the conflict spread everywhere. During one of those battles, space itself was torn open."
"An unstable portal appeared—wild and uncontrolled."
Eve's hands trembled.
"I was running," she whispered. "Everything was burning. I didn't know what a portal was."
"I just wanted to survive."
Lucy looked at Panther.
"In that chaos, Eve was swallowed by the portal."
"That portal led to Earth."
"She arrived here many years after us—alone, frightened, and far from her world."
Panther slowly exhaled.
"…So she didn't abandon her world," he said.
"No," Lucy replied firmly.
"She was just a child caught in a war she never chose."
Lucy continued.
Panther clenched his fists.
"You lost your memories because of the trauma," Lucy said gently.
"I sealed your tendons so you wouldn't awaken mana and hurt humans."
She placed her hand on his head.
"I've unsealed them now."
Her eyes hardened.
"It's time you grow stronger."
Eve stepped forward and bowed deeply.
"I'm sorry," she said.
"My kind was part of that war."
"I, Evelyn, swear my life to you."
Panther slowly stood up.
His tears dried.
His eyes turned cold.
"There's only one path ahead," he said.
"Revenge."
"I will kill Ramsay with my own hands."
Lucy exhaled slowly.
"One more thing," she added.
"Your friend Louice has been blessed. He's awakened."
A faint smile touched Panther's lips.
"Good," he said. "Let's go meet him eve."
"They'll be waiting at the warehouse," Eve said. "Go after breakfast."
"Sorry, Mom," Panther replied, already walking away.
"I'm busy."
The kids took their cycles and rode fast.
While riding, Eve spoke softly.
"Panther… should we tell Louice and Dion the truth? About us?"
Panther answered without hesitation.
"Yes."
"They're my friends."
"They'll stand with us."
Soon, they reached the warehouse.
Eve stopped suddenly.
"You feel it too, don't you?"
Panther nodded.
"Yes."
At that moment—
A violent wave of wind exploded outward.
A massive tree was ripped from the ground and torn apart.
