"Whoa, that's amazing news! Congratulations, grandpa," Ryan chirped, a genuine beam flashing across his face. "How's she doing?"
"She's perfectly fine. The baby's fine and the mom's fine too," he replied. "I'm off to the mall to get them a few essential things for her stay, you know? A little kit to make sure she's comfortable while she's stuck there for the next few days.
"That's really thoughtful of you," Ryap said, waving as the old man hurried off toward the road. "I wish her the best."
As Mr. Benoit disappeared around the corner and Ryan turned to continue on toward the campus, the old man's words echoed in his head.
