The next day, I took Rumi to her signing. Initially, it was going to be just Rumi's group and me until the Saja boys showed up. Bobby, Kiyo, and Neka extended the table so Huntr/X and Saja could both sign for fans. I sat with Rumi, then Baby and Abby sat on either side of me. I wasn't expecting this, but what can you do? The fan got lined up and we started signing. Most of the time, when they got to me, I gave them an extra item or just a small piece of merchandise. I don't carry much so I keep it light. Most of the time, people have some variants of colored tattoos that look like my patterns. Then a young woman, about sixteen, had patterns tattooed on her arm in a platinum shine with variations of many bright colours. She handed me some art she made, and I gave her a drawing tablet to make anything on the go. She was really happy when she left. There's always that one who has the need for something like that.
"That was generous," Abby said after making a quick outline of his absence for a fan. "Didn't know you did that."
"It's called supporting a fan, not as you would know," I said to him before handing a signed poster to a fan. "Thanks so much for the support!"
The fan smiled and headed off all giddy.
"You're different with the fans," baby said.
"I want them to see welcome when I'm signing," I told them. Then this little kid came over. "Hey there,"
The kid started signing, saying she was a big fan, but couldn't talk. I signed for her to come around the table. I swung my legs around to face her. She held up a little book. It was my petals on being who you are inside and out. She signed that she read it, and wanted me to sign it. I signed back that I'd gladly do that. I signed the inner book cover and handed it back to her. She smiled when she took it, and signed that she wanted to be confident like me when she got big. I signed back that she has the world in her hands to do anything she can put her mind to if she tries hard enough. She hugged my leg, I pet her head, and then she almost skipped off happily.
