Chapter 30 - .

The room is quiet. Everyone's tense, scattered in corners, some staring at phones, some at nothing.

Lyrelle sits on the couch, hands folded, eyes down. Prince leans against the wall, watching her, jaw tight. They haven't really talked like a couple in days.

Thorian notices first. "You two… you're avoiding each other too much. That's dangerous."

Lyrelle glances at him, then Prince. "We're… fine."

Prince exhales sharply. "We're not fine."

Lyrelle looks up. "Oh? And why is that?"

Prince steps closer, hesitating. "Because I stopped… acting like us. Like we were a team. And I hate that."

Lyrelle feels her chest tighten. "I—"

Zyren cuts in, voice sharp. "Enough hiding. You two are smart. You know better. Stop pretending nothing matters."

Ryan leans against the wall, nodding. "Exactly. You can't just… drift apart because of fear."

Lyrelle meets Prince's eyes. The anger and hurt haven't fully faded, but something softer is there. Something waiting.

Prince swallows. "I… I want us to get back to how we were. To trust each other again."

Lyrelle breathes out slowly. "I want that too. Even if it's scary."

He steps closer, cautiously, until they're only a few inches apart. "I don't care what the game does. I care about us. Only us."

Lyrelle smiles faintly, heart racing. "Only us."

Jason and Kyra are on the other side of the room, tense but quiet. Jake holds Kyra's hand, careful.

Summer and Zyren are exchanging sharp glances, subtle tension lingering.

Thorian and Kaida watch the scene quietly. Thorian whispers to Kaida, "That's good. They needed this."

Kaida nods, but her eyes flicker with worry. She knows more than anyone. She knows the secret that could destroy this fragile reconnection.

Prince reaches out slowly, touches Lyrelle's hand. "We'll get through this. Together."

Lyrelle squeezes back. "Together."

The air feels lighter. Just a little. Not safe. Not over. But enough.

Lyrelle sits on the couch, shoulders tense. Prince kneels down beside her, his hand brushing hers lightly. Their fingers graze, then linger.

"I missed this," he whispers.

Lyrelle looks up, eyes soft, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Me too."

He leans closer, and this time there's no hesitation. Their lips meet, gentle at first, slow, tasting trust rebuilt. When they pull back slightly, they just rest foreheads together, breathing each other in.

Across the room, Thorian and Kaida sit side by side on the floor. Kaida leans against him, quiet. He wraps an arm around her shoulders, holding her close. "You don't have to carry all of it," he murmurs.

Kaida tilts her head, letting him. "I know. It just… feels safer when you're here."

He presses a soft kiss to her temple. "Then I'll stay."

Jake finally looks at Kyra, sitting a little apart. He crouches in front of her, careful not to crowd her. "You okay?"

Kyra nods, but tears threaten. "I… yeah. I think so."

He brushes her hair back from her face, and their foreheads touch. "You don't have to hide from me."

Her lips meet his in a short, trembling kiss. Not urgent. Not forced. Just reassurance that they exist in the same world, together.

Summer and Zyren are standing near the window. She crosses her arms, pretending to scowl.

"Don't look at me like I care," she mutters.

Zyren smirks, taking a careful step closer. "I know you do. And I know I care."

She scoffs, but her shoulders relax as he tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. "You're impossible," she says softly.

"I know," he whispers back, his hand brushing hers. "But you're mine."

He leaned in and kissed her slowly, very passionate.

Summer froze. But didn't pull out. She kissed him back.

The group feels… warmer. More connected. Even after everything, even after Saph's death, even after the game's terror, love finds a way to breathe.

And for a brief moment, the Shadow Game doesn't matter. Not the dares, not the truths, not the rules. It's just them. Alive. Holding each other. Feeling each other.

The room glows softly with small gestures: hands held, foreheads pressed together, lips brushing, hearts catching up. The world outside might still be dangerous, but here, love exists, and it's defiant.
