Chapter 21 - Chapter 19— Ren in a coma

The city seemed darker somehow, the night thick with tension. In the ICU, Ren lay motionless, the machines beside him humming steadily, yet the stillness in the room felt deafening. Harit refused to leave. His fingers remained entwined with Ren's, his jaw clenched so tightly it ached.

"I don't care what it takes," he whispered, voice low but resolute. "You're coming back to me, Ren. You hear me?"

Runa stood nearby, arms crossed, watching the young man she knew as Harit crumble yet remain unyielding. "Harit… you need to let the police handle this. We have to act wisely, not just out of rage."

Harit's gaze never left Ren's pale face. "I'm not letting him get away with this. Not Jun. Not ever."

Jun's Shadow Moves

Miles away, Jun sat in a dimly lit room, his smirk gone, replaced by a simmering anger. Lucas leaned against the wall, observing him warily.

"You've crossed a line, Jun," Lucas said quietly. "Harit's not just going to sit and cry over Ren. They'll come for you."

Jun slammed his hand on the table, eyes sharp. "Good. Let them come. Let them see what happens when someone tries to take what's mine."

Lucas's brows knitted. "This isn't about you. Ren isn't in a position to fight back… but Harit? He's dangerous. Don't underestimate him."

Jun's grin returned, cold and calculated. "I don't need to fight him yet. I just need to make him hurt."

Harit Family Takes Action

The Harit estate was buzzing with activity. Harit's father had summoned lawyers and private investigators, coordinating with police to launch a city-wide investigation into Ren's kidnapping.

"This is criminal," the family lawyer said firmly. "Jun will face full charges: assault, kidnapping, endangerment, and attempted harm against Ren. We have eyewitness accounts, video evidence, and medical reports."

Harit's mother adjusted her scarf, voice tense. "And we will spare no effort. He won't evade justice."

Harit exhaled sharply, pacing back and forth. "I don't care if it takes weeks, months, or years. Jun won't get away with this."

Runa stepped closer, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Harit… you have to stay focused. Ren needs your calm more than your anger right now."

Harit's gaze softened for a fleeting moment. "I can't help it. Seeing him like this… it makes me want to tear the world apart."

---

The First Legal Action

The next morning, the Harit family lawyers filed the first official complaint against Jun. The police, armed with evidence collected from city surveillance cameras, CCTV from bars, and witness statements, immediately launched an investigation.

Harit stood outside the police station, jaw tight. His fists were clenched, his heart pounding. "Jun will pay for this. Every single thing."

Runa's voice was steady beside him. "We need to trust the process, Harit. Let the authorities handle the legal side. Your job is to stay by Ren's side."

Harit shook his head, frustration evident. "I can't just wait. Every second he's out there… Ren's life hangs by a thread."

---

Jun's Retaliation

Meanwhile, Jun had learned of the legal complaint. He slammed his phone down, anger flashing in his eyes. "So they've involved the police. They think they can stop me?"

Lucas, ever cautious, spoke. "They've already traced a lot of the activity back to you. You can't just retaliate without consequences."

Jun leaned back, a dark smile playing at his lips. "Consequences? I don't care about consequences. I want to make sure Harit regrets ever trying to control me… and I'll make him pay for every second Ren is unconscious."

Harit's Vigil Continues

Back in the ICU, Harit sat beside Ren, refusing to blink or leave his side. Each monitor beep, each faint twitch, each shallow breath was a relief, a small victory.

"I promised I'd keep you safe," Harit whispered, voice hoarse. "And I will. No one… no one is going to hurt you again."

Runa watched him silently. "Even if he wakes, Harit… you need to be careful. Jun isn't finished. He'll try again."

Harit's hands tightened around Ren's. "I don't care. If he comes, I'll be ready. Ren's not alone. And I swear… I'll protect him. No matter what it takes."

Ren's fingers twitched slightly in response, almost imperceptibly. Harit's heart leapt. "That's it… that's all I need to see. Come back to me, Ren. Please."

---

Tension Builds

Across the city, Jun plotted his next move, dark thoughts swirling in his mind. He knew Harit would fight, that the family's legal action would make things difficult. Yet, he wasn't deterred.

Harit, meanwhile, was fully mobilized, coordinating with family, police, and private investigators to track Jun's movements while refusing to leave Ren's side.

The battle lines were drawn: **Ren's life hanging by a thread, Jun's wrath growing, and Harit's determination stronger than ever.**

The next confrontation would be inevitable.

And Harit's promise echoed in his mind: **"I'm coming for you, Ren. No one will take you from me again."**
