Chapter 13: (The pay)
Xiao Yanran took in a deep breath as she stood at her porch staring at the door handle hesitating to go in.
Finally opening the door and walking into the living room, she saw Xiao Wan sitting arrogantly on the couch with crossed legs operating her phone. Xiao Yanran pretended she wasn't there and was about walking to her room but Xiao Wan didn't seem to want to let her go like that and immediately hurried off the couch blocking her way.
"Baby sis, aren't you going to say hi to me or are you still upset at the bitter truth",
Xiao Wan said and Xiao Yanran glared at her.
"Just face it, you can never be as good as me, I'm smart and very beautiful. Guess what, would you believe many people came for an interview but I was the only one personally interviewed by the CEO of Titan Core himself. He must have fallen for me the moment he saw my picture on my internship file. We just can't be compared Yanran, I'm beautiful, smart, and everywhere I go I always succeed while you're a complete loser ",
Xiao Wan mocked and Xiao Yanran bit on her lower lips trying her best not to release a slap on the idiot in front of her.
The living room door was suddenly opened and their parents came in.
"Mum, Dad",
Xiao Wan said with a sweet voice hurrying to embrace them while Xiao Yanran took the opportunity and left for her room locking herself in. the walls weren't thick so she could still hear Xiao Wan boasting to their parents how she was personally interviewed by the CEO unlike others who got interviewed by the HR, claiming the CEO had already begun falling for her.

"How much will he pay?",
Xu Jun and Xu Yun asked at the same time after Xu Jin explained to them what Lei Zhang wanted them to do.
The two were both on their pajamas seating on the couch as they looked at Xu Jin wide eyes and Xu Jin couldn't help but roll his eyes.
"Look behave yourselves, it's not just about how much he's paying, Lei Zhang is really serious about this girl, if you two fail, I won't stop him from punishing you ",
Xu Jin said and they heaved a sigh.
"You know I'm really surprised bro Zhang is actually liking a girl, that cold hearted statue ", Xu Jun said.
"It's just like in the movies, for a girl to have won bro Zhang's heart, she must really be something ", Xu Yun said.
"Wait let me guess, she's beautiful, tall and smart ", Xu Jun said.
"Don't forget domineering, it's always like that in the movies, the domineering girl tames the cold hearted CEO",
Xu Yun said and Xu Jun stood up from the couch acting Lei Zhang.
"I'm Lei Zhang the greatest CEO in Shanghai"
Xu Jun said faking a more matured voice.
"And I'm Xiao Yanran, I'm going to hit you so hard with my love you'll forget you were ever a CEO",
Xu Yun said faking a feminine voice, standing up as well.
"No way, my heart is as cold as ice, as hard as a rock and as deadly as the devil",
Xu Jun said raising his hands like a monster.
"Well then, here comes my love arrows",
Xu Yun said faking shooting an arrow at Xu Jun.
"Oh no, Xiao Yanran, thou hast hit me with thine love, so hard that thou giveth unto thee thine entire company, how did thou breaketh thy walls of thy defences "
Xu Jun said in English this time like an unprofessional actor trying to act a Shakespeare's movie while Xu Jin just sat on the couch rubbing his temples wondering how he got those two idiots as brothers.
The next morning being a Saturday morning, Xu Jun and Xu Yun stood outside the door of Lei Zhang's office hesitant to go in. Xu Jin didn't go with them telling them to go see Lei Zhang themselves. Xu Jun was actually the one delaying.
"Let's just go in already, what are you worried about?", Xu Yun asked.
"I don't know if he's forgotten about when I called him an ATM machine ", Xu Jun said.
"I'm sure he's got so many important things about his company to be thinking of to still remember that ", Xu Yun said and Xu Jun nodded.
"Right, right, let's go",
Xu Jun said opening the door and they both walked in. Lei Zhang seeing the twins turned of his computer as they approached his table.
"Sit ",
he said and they both sat down.
"I'm sure Xu Jin has already explained to the both of you what I need you two to do ",
Lei Zhang said and they both nodded.
"Good, I don't need to waste time then, I'll be giving you boys three thousand yuans every day ",
Lei Zhang said Xu Jun scratched his nape feeling greedy.
"Umm, bro Zhang, don't you think it's a bit small",
Xu Jun said and Lei Zhang glared at him.
"Why?, cause I'm an ATM machine ",
Lei Zhang said and Xu Jun felt his heart waver. Lei Zhang clearly still remembered.
"N, n, never mind ", Xu Jun stammered.

"Aaaaaaaah!", Xiao Wan's screams filled the room as she jumped around the living room happily.
"It was approved, it was approved, I get to intern at Titan Core",
Xiao Wan said showing her parents the acceptance message sent to her from Titan Core.
"Oh my gosh, Xiao Wan we're so proud ", her father said.
"Now that your internship has been accepted, the next step is to win the CEOs heart ",
her mother said and Xiao Wan blushed.
"Winning his heart won't be any stress, he's already falling for me ", Xiao Wan said proudly.
" But if you'll be working there you'll have to stay at Central Shanghai, you won't be able to go from Fengxian all the way to Central Shanghai everyday",
her father said and her mother frowned.
"I'll rent an apartment at Central Shanghai, I'll be officially starting on Monday so I'll leave tomorrow",
Xiao Wan said and her mother's eyes began getting wet.
"Oh I'll miss you Wan dear",
her mother said hugging her.
"Don't worry, I'm going to make you two proud right?, the next time I come back, I'll be with the CEO to receive your blessings", Xiao Wan said.
"We know, we trust you ",
her father said mean while, Xiao Yanran pinned her ears to the door of her bedroom listening to their emotional drama with a smile.
Before she had hoped Xiao Wan wouldn't get the internship but right now she was glad. At least she could get even if it was a little peace of mind. With Xiao Wan staying at Central Shanghai there would be no one to bully her at home. She could face her parents criticism and comparison all day but it was worse when Xiao Wan was around.
The next day being a Sunday, Xiao Yanran had personally volunteered to help her pack. She sat there on Xiao Wan's bed arranging and folding her clothes neatly then putting them in her box.
Xiao Wan who had been in the bathroom bathing and humming a song finally came out on a towel. The moment she saw Xiao Yanran, her cheerful expression changed as she glared at her.
"Why are you here?", Xiao Wan asked.
"Nothing, just making sure your clothes are well arranged in your box, I don't want you arriving at Central Shanghai with rumpled clothes ",
Xiao Yanran said and Xiao Wan rolled her eyes.
"Quit the act, I know you just can't wait to see me leave, you ain't fooling no one ",
Xiao Wan said and Xiao Yanran shrugged.
"If you want me to stop I'll stop",
Xiao Yanran said and Xiao Wan rolled her eyes again.
"Just make sure they don't get rumpled",
Xiao Wan said going to her shelf to apply some deodorants while Xiao Yanran went back to happily arranging her clothes even humming a song while at it. TBC
