Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2

" Thank you so much for what you did earlier. I really appreciate"

She felt grateful that they are still people like him who stands up for others.

Instead of acknowledging her gratitude, he runs through her dressing, a short skirt, certainly it wasn't meant for someone with such a figure. An open chest? Was it intentional?

" dressing like this to work, don't you think you are calling for attention?"

He sounded rude.

Liv takes a quick look at herself then back to him, she was surprised at how rude he could sound.

She was just trying to show how grateful she felt for what he did but here he was standing in front of her sounding so rude.

" I was...."

— I'm here for my package", he cut her.

She swallows the remains of her words letting out a sigh,

" Name please", she demands.

He tilted his head a little to the left.

Was she playing dumb all of the sudden?

" I need a name to confirm. I can't just hand over any package to someone without a name", she returned the rude tone trying to piss him off.

" Liv, Liv!"

Lucy kept calling as she arrived at the counter.

" I heard Harris was here, is it true?"she questions excitedly, not observing the customer in front of her.

Liv taps her hands calmly using her eyes to signal that there was a customer present.

Lucy, who understood those signals, turns to the customer in black.

Her mouth parted, words hanging in her throat.

" OMG! Harris"

She finally said, her palms covering her mouth.

" I'm such a fan of you"

Liv watches how she gives away herself for this mysterious guy.

" Thank you. I am here for my package please, your colleague seemed lost in that"

Lucy was surprised that he came by himself to get his package. Normally, he would send his personal assistant who even became famous since he does most of the things for Harris.

" Sorry about that. I'll quickly get it for you, please wait here"

She left, leaving Liv again with him.

Liv tried not to look at him directly. She decided to get herself busy arranging some of the pieces that were already arranged. Well she was just buying herself time.

while doing the useless things, her side eye could still see him like she was looking directly at him

The way he carries himself says otherwise. He looked calm and composed but his words were bullet, each of them. He seemed like a spoiled brat to her.

'He must surely carry himself so high to say whatever he wants to say. Telling me I looked lost, I was just asking for a name and here he was talking shit'.

This words ran through her mind that she didn't know when she said the next loud enough to his hearing,

"I bet he is a loser"

Harris fingers stop tapping the screen when those words echoed in his ears,

He looks up to the person busy with whatever she was doing,

" Do you have something to say to me?"

His question suddenly startle her, making her to spare him a glance,

Was he talking to her? No it can't be. He couldn't have heard what she had been saying, it was only in my head.

And so she thought.

" Nothing?", he pressed further, voice calm mixed with anger.

Even if he was wearing those dark glasses, Liv knew he was looking directly at her.

She freezed on the spot, thinking of what to say,

" Uhmmm… I never said I had anything to say to you"

She responded.

" Then what are blabbing about? And why do keep staring at me?",

She remained frozen, eyes blinking more than thrice. She tried so hard not to look at him.

So he was observing all this time.

'I better think of an answer quick before he keeps pushing my luck'

"why shouldn't I look at you? I mean I have to observe all customers to be sure nothing goes missing"

' OMG! Liv what have you done. You indirectly called him a thief. Nice job Liv, of everything to say'

She bit her lower lips with her eyes closed knowing the kind of trouble she was brewing.

Harris stared at her in shock, he let out a short laugh. It wasn't because she was funny or anything but she crossed the line.

He took off the glasses and his mask.

Liv held her breath when her eyes fell on his face. He is handsome, there was no doubt about it.

" Breath", he says.

Liv knew she was attracted by his appearance but she couldn't just sale herself away

" And who says I'm not breathing. If I wasn't, I would have been dead already", she argues

what kind of woman is this'

" What I meant was..."

" Sir here is your package", Lucy announced, not allowing him to finish with his sentence.

She was surprised seeing him without his mask, that curiosity built up in her, she couldn't wait to ask Liv about it.

He got his package from her and gave Liv a final look, one that looked like a death wish before leaving.

Liv exhaled hard like she had been suffocating by his presence which she actually was.

She returned her face to Lucy only to see her giving that look.

" don't give me that look"

She warns her.

" Oh come on", Lucy groans, suddenly leaning herself to her.

" Why did he suddenly take his mask off? He never does that except on appearances. Also, I noticed you were talking to him before I walked in to hand him his package"

" I was so surprised he took his mask off. But the other part of me talking to him, scratch that…I wasn't"

" Seriously?"

" Trust me, human beings don't talk to animals", she replied

Of course this is how Liv is, the way she talks like she doesn't have any feelings. Lucy didn't know her much, but she always believed she was softer than the way she carries herself.

" If what you say is true, it means you're an animal too. Think about it, both of you are animals"

" What did you just call me?", Liv questions, not understanding why she would compare her to that guy.

On the other hand, Lucy was laughing, she was so happy she was able to use Liv's words against her.

"So what? Do you even know you you were talking too?",

Lucy asks her eyes widening

Liv then gave her a stare, one that didn't seem to care,

" I don't like animals. So why should I care about who he is?"

Lucy's brow arched,

" He is the son of a billionaire".

She informed me not minding if she was interested.

" Hmmm, wanna know more?",

She asks, raising her both brow.

" No thank you", Liv said getting herself busy until the question crossed her mind,

" Then why did you say you were a fan? Are you a fan of a billionaire?",

Her question only brought smiles to Lucy's lips

" So you are interested in knowing about the animal".

"Don't get me wrong, just wanted to know", Liv corrected.

" That is because he is a gamer. Not only him, I think five of them. They call themselves "S-TEAM", she explains.

Liv nods her head absorbing what she said.

" So what if you were a fan of his. Didn't you see the way he behaved earlier like he didn't care about it"

Lucy waves that aside,

" I know, but trust me he is much better than the others".

" Look…..

" Olivia!"

Her gaze shifted from Lucy to the person calling her,

" The general manager will like to see you in her office, right now".
