Chapter 69 - Signs of Awakening

The moment the three twins heard the furious voice, they hurried behind Hades's sixth son and spoke to him in a falsely pleading tone:

"Brave warrior, protect us from that savage bitch! She's trying to ruin our mood. Go on—move!"

When Hades's sixth son heard that and saw the twins' behavior, he was stunned and confused by what they were doing. Still, he carried out their request anyway. Gaining the favor of powerful prophetesses could be extremely useful to him in the future.

He stepped forward, positioning himself between Athena's eldest daughter and the three twins, and said to the girl advancing toward them:

"Don't come any closer, girl. I wouldn't advise you to spoil the nobles' mood. You know how dangerous that can be."

The moment Athena's eldest daughter heard his words, she froze and stared at him in shock. When she realized he was Hades's sixth son—and not the twins' younger brother—her face filled with disbelief. She pointed at him and said:

"Have you lost your mind? What are you doing? Have those three twins really washed your brain?"

When Hades's sixth son heard her, he grew angry—or at least pretended to. He gestured behind him toward where the twins were standing and said:

"How dare you speak to nobles in that manner—"

But before he could finish, the hand he had raised froze midair. He didn't understand what was happening.

At that moment, Poseidon's eldest son burst out laughing and snapped him out of it, saying:

"The three twins ran away the moment Athena's daughter showed up, you idiot! Didn't you notice?"

Hades's sixth son's face flushed red instantly. He quickly looked at Athena's daughter, trying to hide his embarrassment, and said in a forced, shaky voice:

"See? You can't see nobles at just any time or place. They're fast."

When Athena's daughter heard that, she raised an eyebrow in surprise at how well he held his composure despite the awkward situation. Just then, Poseidon's eldest son began clapping mockingly and said with amused sarcasm:

"Well done, brave warrior. You've truly enlightened me with your shamelessness and lack of embarrassment."

As soon as Poseidon's son finished speaking, Hades's sixth son lifted his head toward the sky and spouted nonsense:

"Isn't that right? I am indeed the strongest warrior in this world!"

When Athena's eldest daughter saw what he was saying—and how Poseidon's son was playing along with him in that ridiculous exchange—anger surged through her. She shouted:

"Get out of my sight, you idiots—now!"

The moment the boys heard her shout, they vanished from the spot like the wind.

Athena's daughter stood there for a moment, staring into empty space, then sighed deeply and headed toward the direction the twins had fled, muttering irritably:

"How did those twins turn a son of Hades into their servant? They really are cunning girls."

Hades's sixth son and Poseidon's eldest son were standing a short distance away. Athena's daughter thought they had truly left after her angry outburst, unaware that they had only retreated slightly and were still watching from afar, curiosity and genuine interest settled deep within them.

They wanted to see what would happen between the three twins and Athena's eldest daughter—far from childish jokes and petty squabbles—inside Hades's weapons vault.

Inside the vault, Hades and his brothers stood facing the girl before them. Even so, they couldn't see her clearly. The power awakening within her completely enveloped her body, like a dense shell of energy that obscured her features and prevented their eyes from discerning her face.

The place was drowned in an oppressive, suffocating silence, as if time itself had stopped. Nothing could be heard except the faint vibrations caused by the surging energy throughout the vault.

But that silence didn't last long.

Odin suddenly spoke, his voice deep and firm, drawing his brothers' attention as he said:

"This energy is getting out of control. Reinforce the vault with your power immediately, or it will collapse and harm the children outside."

The moment his brothers heard this, they realized the gravity of the situation. They looked around and saw that several sections of the vault had already begun to crumble under the pressure of the awakening power.

Without hesitation, they bowed their heads in acknowledgment of Odin's command and released their power together, directing it into the walls and storage structures, strengthening and supporting them so they could withstand the immense strain.

Only then did the destructive energy suddenly stop.

But it didn't disappear.

Instead, it coiled around the girl, forming a sphere of pure energy that surrounded and protected her from the outside world—like a living, pulsating shield.

When Athena saw this, unease crept into her heart. She stepped forward, looked at Odin, and asked with clear tension in her voice:

"Is the girl all right, Odin? What's happening?"

Hades remained silent, but his expression alone revealed his deep concern. It was obvious how worried he was about his daughter, yet he said nothing. Deep down, he knew that if she were truly in danger, Odin would have acted immediately.

And indeed, Odin's next words eased his heart and dispelled the anxiety gripping him.

He said calmly and confidently:

"Don't worry. The energy this girl awakened isn't trying to harm her. It's protecting her. It mistook our actions for an attack, so now it's trying to wake her from her unconscious state."

When Odin's brothers heard this, they nodded in understanding and continued watching the girl inside the sphere of energy.

None of them could clearly see what was inside, but they could sense her breathing and feel the power steadily growing within her—strength increasing little by little, as if she were reclaiming herself.

A long while passed before Odin spoke again.

But this time, his voice was different.

It was filled with joy and delight as he said with a clear smile:

"She has awakened."
