Chapter 70 - An Unexpected Reaction

The three twins were running away from the place where the children of Hades, Poseidon, and Athena had been gathered. After they heard the voice of Athena's eldest daughter and the clear anger filling her tone, they immediately realized that staying was no longer an option, and that delaying even for a moment could bring them a great deal of trouble.

The three twins did not look back at the sixth son of Hades, who had moments ago been standing up for them. They did not care about abandoning him, for each of them felt that the natural fate of anyone who volunteers to defend a "lady" is to fall. There was no sadness or pity within them for him, even if he were beaten by Athena's eldest daughter.

After a short period of running, they suddenly stopped.

They raised their heads at the same time, their gazes turning toward Poseidon's fourth daughter, who was standing near her father's house. As soon as they saw her, any trace of anxiety or exhaustion vanished from their features, as if the running had never happened at all.

In its place appeared blatant arrogance and deliberate pride, reflected in their slow, haughty walk, and in the way they adjusted their appearance with fabricated confidence, filled with a strange sense of pride.

After fixing their appearance, they moved toward Poseidon's fourth daughter.

The girl had already seen them approaching. She stopped knocking on her father's house door—she had been trying to check whether he was inside or not—then turned toward them. Their strange walk and unusual behavior stirred a feeling of curiosity within her, but that curiosity did not last long.

Within moments, it turned into real shock.

For she heard one of them say in a tone filled with contempt:

"So here you are, commoner. Where have you been all this time? Come here at once and be our guard. There is a filthy, strange creature running after us, and you must protect your ladies from it."

Poseidon's fourth daughter froze in place, her eyes widening in astonishment. She pointed to herself instinctively, unbelieving, and said in confusion:

"Are… are you saying that to me?"

Unconsciously, she looked around, searching for someone else who might be the intended person, but the place was completely empty. There was no one there except her and them.

While she was still trying to comprehend the situation, she heard the three twins whispering in a strange voice, as if they did not want her to hear, yet their raised tones said the exact opposite.

One of them said:

"Is it possible that this commoner does not know our talent, my sisters?"

The second replied with disbelief:

"That is impossible. Rumors spread among the common folk at an enormous speed, and she must have heard a word here or there… isn't that so?"

The third intervened in a decisive tone:

"In any case, we will tell her ourselves. This is not a difficult matter. From now on, this girl will be our servant."

No sooner had the third finished speaking than the three twins turned together toward Poseidon's fourth daughter, who had been listening unintentionally, and said in a single voice filled with mockery:

"What are you doing? Are you eavesdropping on us, commoner?"

Anger flared in Poseidon's fourth daughter's chest, but she restrained herself. Her curiosity was stronger than her anger at that moment. She raised her head and said firmly:

"No, sisters. You were speaking loudly, so I heard every word."

This reply only increased the anger of the three twins. Their voices rose as they shouted passionately:

"How dare you question us, you liar?! Are you saying that we lie?! Do you know before whom you are standing?!"

When Poseidon's fourth daughter heard the words of the three twins, she focused all her attention on what they were about to say next. She paid no attention to the insults directed at her or to the arrogant words they uttered, for her curiosity was stronger than any other feeling at that moment.

And indeed, she heard what she had been waiting for.

She heard what satisfied her curiosity… then froze her in place.

The three twins said in voices filled with confidence and arrogance:

"You are standing before the three seeresses of Asgard. You must show respect when you look at us."

Then one of them added in an even prouder tone:

"We possess great power, and immense spiritual and prophetic potential. In the future, we will be able to speak with Asgard… your grandfather, commoner. Do you understand what that means?"

But the three twins did not give Poseidon's fourth daughter a chance to think or respond.

One of the sisters immediately spoke, saying:

"That means that when you see us, you must bow immediately and show signs of submission at once. Do you understand?"

The second sister did not let her express herself, and the third intervened quickly, looking at her with contempt:

"I do not think she understands, my sister. Look at her… she is still standing on her feet and has not bowed to us yet. And that, if it indicates anything, indicates her extreme insolence and arrogant behavior, does it not?"

But Poseidon's fourth daughter did not hear any of this argument, nor did any of the insults reach her.

She had completely frozen from the moment she heard that the three twins possessed strong prophetic and spiritual abilities, and that they would be able in the future to speak with Asgard, her grandfather.

Her thoughts stopped, as if time had frozen with her.

After a few short moments, she came back to herself and lifted her gaze toward the three twins with a completely different look… a look filled with joy and genuine happiness. Yet deep within this bright feeling, there was a faint, silent jealousy trying to find its way into her heart.

She said in a cheerful, astonished voice:

"So… you will be able in the future to speak with my grandfather?! How wonderful! Will—"

But she did not finish her sentence.

For suddenly, a furious, sharp voice pierced the place from behind.

It was the voice of Athena's eldest daughter, shouting forcefully:

"You will not escape again, twins!"

Athena's eldest daughter, the three twins, the sixth son of Hades, and Poseidon's eldest son, who had been watching the scene from afar, did not expect what would happen next.

Even Asgard, the grandfather, who had been watching his grandchildren from above… was surprised.

Suddenly, Poseidon's fourth daughter screamed at the top of her voice, everything in her tone having changed:

"How dare you speak to the three seeresses of Asgard in this manner, commoner?! You must show respect at once!"

As soon as she said that, she rushed forward and stood in front of the three twins, as if trying to protect them with her body.

At that moment, everyone froze in their places.

Athena's eldest daughter, the sixth son of Hades, and her elder brother stood stunned by what they were seeing, unable to comprehend what was happening before their eyes.

As for the three twins… they were no exception.
