Once word got out that Roy was awake, the two rookies burst into the room and cried by his bedside, leaving Roy to comfort them while he was still recovering. The other adventurers from the party crowded the inn to thank him. While the Enhanced Mermaid wasn't physically strong, her song was a nightmare; this incident served as a lesson to them all.
A few days later, thanks to magic and potions, Roy had mostly recovered, though he remained a bit pale. The Demon King's Armor had drained nearly a liter of blood—more than any blood donation he remembered from his past life. After laying another bouquet at the equipment graves of Alise and the others, the group left the 18th floor.

The return journey through the upper floors was a breeze for a team that had survived a Floor Boss. Emerging from the Tower of Babel, the warm sunlight felt like a spiritual healing. Waiting for them in the plaza was Goddess Astraea. She had received a letter from a returning adventurer two days prior and knew the gist of their ordeal. She watched them with the eyes of a mother watching her children return home.
"Welcome back. You've worked hard," she said gently. Ryuu and the girls' eyes grew moist. Roy rubbed his eyes too. Damn dust... is the plaza always this windy? Someone tell the Guild to fix the environment...
Back at the Starry Court, everyone bathed and rested. Astraea had prepared a feast, and everyone ate with a sense of security they could only feel at home.
"You've leveled up," Astraea said at the dinner table.
"Who did?" Roy asked.
"Everyone except you," she replied with a playful pout. She felt a bit left out of the growth process.
Roy looked at them in shock. "Level 2? Level 2? And you... Level 5?!"
"Yes!" Daphne and Cassandra were ecstatic. They were now High-Level adventurers. Ryuu nodded calmly; she was now a First-Class adventurer. Roy wasn't entirely surprised; the "Great Feats" they performed—clearing the 17th-floor Monster Party, surviving the Mermaid, and slaying Amphisbaena—were more than enough.
The next day, they headed to the Guild to submit their report and exchange magic stones. Royman hadn't anticipated their success, but Roy's fame was now unstoppable. News of four people taking down Amphisbaena had set Orario ablaze.
At the Guild, Roy saw Eina in her smart receptionist uniform. "Mr. Roy!" she exclaimed, rushing over.
"Miss Eina, it's been a while. You look beautiful in that uniform," Roy said. Eina blushed. The other adventurers in the lobby felt their hearts shatter. Justice's Sprout, you animal! You were on an expedition for a month—when did you find the time to woo her?!
"Where's Remer?" Roy asked.
"Supervisor Remer said I'm in charge of the Astraea Familia's affairs now!" Eina puffed out her chest. Remer had effectively "retired" from dealing with Roy out of pure fear. He wanted nothing to do with Roy's chaos anymore.
